Nice! I went out of Khao Lok 3 or 4 years ago. I am not sure it was from the same boat as we launched from the beach, but it looks very similar. I caught one big one and had to go back due to my wife being sick. That was one of the strongest fish I have ever caught!

Where were you fishing and at what time of the year. I live in Chiang Mai and want to go.
@thewatercolumnchannel2 жыл бұрын
This was a few km's offshore from Khao Lak, which is just north of Phuket. You can get in touch with Neil of Fishing Khaolak to organize a trip. This day was at the end of March, seas are usually calm during high season from about December to March. Best of luck if you decide to go, I'm sure you'll enjoy it

Thanks Matous, No all of the equipment was supplied, didn't have to take any tackle. Get in touch with Neil of Fishing KhaoLak company if you want to give it a go, it's a great day's sport, highly recommended!

@@thewatercolumnchannel Hi Andy. I am living in Krabi Thailand and I'm dying to catch some mahi. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
@thewatercolumnchannel3 жыл бұрын
@@alpacarlo I've only just received your comment for some reason... but this was offshore from Khao Lak, about an hour or two on the boat, we were fishing around the FAD's or Fish Attracting Devices, a fancy name for big lumps of polystyrene anchored to the bottom! They do attract the fish though... good luck if you give it a go and cheers for watching

@@01HaydenFan I would recommend getting in touch with Neil of Fishing Khaolak, he took me out and we really got among the fish, you can get in touch with him through his website, he's still operating as far as I know. He's been doing that trip for a while now, I'm sure he could get you into some mahi mahi.. good luck!

nice fish. neither thai, nor japanese like to eat this fish. in japan they dont, because the rumlr since ww2 is that they fed on the corpses of japanese solidrs. they are voracious eaters because they dont live that long and are growing fast continuously. and cery nice fish to eat,raw, steamed, sauted or grilled. more for me!
