Fishing the Boca Raton Inlet

The Boca Raton Inlet usually produces a wide variety of species and whenever I am there I can see plenty of species in the water that I've never caught before. Today, however, all those fish didn't seem to be around. The variety of species caught was still nice, but they were all fish I have caught before. A rather disappointing day at the inlet.

As a young boy from Ohio my Dad took me fishing a lot. Bluegill, Bass, Crappie and Catfish. We would go to Florida on vacations to visit my Grandma and fish. All the variety of fish we would catch down there was magical to me. My aunt worked at the Boca Raton Hotel. We would catch fish and have to look them up in a book to see what kind they were. When I caught a fish with wings, feet and made grunting noises was the weirdest. Turned out to be a Sea Robin. I think. Thanks for bringing back those great memories. 🤙
