I've never had a bad day on the water. Rain shine it doesn't matter. Fishing or just casting. The older I get the more I appreciate it. Great video as always Matt. Thank you.

Looks like an old Ford flathead engine in a truck frame . From the too brief picture. Dune buggies used them back in the day. 50s & 60s trucks and coupes . Didn't hurt them to run hot . Used to ride the dunes at the cross area in Pensacola Beech. Thanks for fishing info . Watching videos from Panama City Beach FL.

Likely an abandoned car from many years ago. At Cape Lookout NC people used to ferry vehicles over and use as home bases to surf fish. Many were abandoned and most were eventually hauled away but occasionally one is discovered after a storm. Sand is washed from around it exposing old frame and wheels. There is one today in the “Hook” that I have seen for 30 years. It is a landmark of sorts.

Don't know how many times I've relearned the lesson of checking your tackle, especially your line & leader, in the salt. These are the things that make it a fair fight.

Happens to us all! Glad you got a decent box of whiting though. Also, should we expect an event for the one year anniversary of the Grand Opening? I’m trying to plan a trip down and it might hinge on that possibility

Way back in the day everyone was allowed to drive on the beach. Somebody didn't wake up in time. Looks like a straight 6 Jeep motor which would make sense

Have a Beach house in St, Augustine for 60 years and you find all kind of things on the Beach. 1 weekend we went there and found a bunch of stuff at our house( on stilts), turns out a travel trailer sunk in front of us and they skuddled it and tried to save stuff under our house. Another time an 80 ft wooden ship beacheaed (minister spreading Bibles) , cars, boats and all sorts of things get beached along the gold coast! (BTW good catch!!!)

yea matt id take a day on the surf like that any day of the week. how is the progress going on the pier
@waterassassinfishingbuilds61223 ай бұрын
I think I’ve said this before but in NC the guys will line the pier to catch spots! They swear it is a great fish, I don’t know I’ve never tried them. Another great video Matt.

I ate my first spot in 1995. It had a unique but good flavor. I was raised on freshwater bream and bass and an occasional restaurant flounder or trout. Structure wise spots are like bream. Easy for me to eat with bones but folks not accustomed to the bones shy away from spot. After about 3000 spots later I tell you that I crave their flavor. The past few years have not been plentiful in NC as are many of the other species. My advice is give the spots a try. They are seasonal at a few restaurants in the Oct, Nov months. If you are ever invited to a spot fry let me know and I will meet you there.

That's probably somebody's old beach buggy truck. I wouldn't be surprised if it's been buried for years and just got exposed again. Hopefully it'll get hauled out to deeper water and left as a reef or cleaned up off the beach.

It is definitely a Chrysler Flathead inline 6 cylinder. Ford flatheads did not have the indentions for the spark plugs. As to what kind of car or truck it's kind of hard to tell. It clearly has six indentions for spark plugs which eliminates any Jeep because they were 4 cylinders.
