Hi Dave, Just found you site & really enjoyed your Barbel fishing on the WYE. I want to try it myself but at 72 have I left it to late in life. Love the Ross/ Hoarworthy area so better not waste any more time. A lot to learn in a short time, cheers Robbie.

Nice video Dave. I like method feeder for rivers as well but to target slacks or when the current is really slow. But that seems to be effective in a stronger current as well. Well done!

French Fishing. Hi Thomas it's a really effective method on fast water. However the mix has to be made really thick so it stays on the feeder. When you get a bite the barbel hit the bait so hard, pulling the rod tip right round! Thanks for watching.

I use this method on the Rhone and Gardon rivers in France works a treat for Barbel and Carp

Nice video buddy and a style I will have to give a go. This has got me thinking that when using my standard feeder, sometimes the rod quickly straightens before settling again. I know this could be due to several things, but it could also be a fish nudging it. Thanks for getting me thinking about a new style.

Nice vid again there Dave. One day i will try the method feeder more than likely after i've given the open cage feeder a go first as i've yet to do it which brings me to a question i'm hoping you'll answer. Which method do you find best- open cage feeder or method feeder? are there certain conditions which favours one or the other? or is the method feeder the best method (its in the name to be fair!) any time in any conditions? it does look the best way seeing as your hook bait is put right in the method mix.

keith Rockliffe - hi Keith I tend to us the esp feeders as they are larger than the carp type feeder and a lot heavier in the 100 grams. You can get them from most good tackle shops and of eBay. Thanks for watching👍👍👍
