There's a local guy out here in WA state who does YT as well. He gave me some good advice, sometimes, you just gotta feel the tug. No matter how small or big they may be. It's definitely true. I skunk more often then not so I can feel the pain of the struggle. Glad you were able to get your confidence back GB. Keep up the great work sir. Appreciate you.

I had this feeling this past Sunday. Caught like 15 fish nothing big but after skunking for like 2-3 months it felt so good to have a day like that. 15 smalls in 4 hours. I’ll take that over skunking any day!
@brucepreston3927Ай бұрын
The first good day of fishing after long period of getting skunked will always make you smile ear to ear! I had a similar thing happen this year...My local river was mostly flooded from May to Aug and the fishing was really hard...But one day at the end of Aug I got up super early and ended up catching like 20 fish 3 of which were over 5lb...It is one of the best feelings in the world!

I'm glad you had a fun day; Franks Tract was the place I decided tournaments weren't for me anymore after being paired with a guy who made a 50 mph run across it in fog so thick you couldn't see beyond the front of the boat. Kayaks really seem to have taken some of the truly toxic bits out of tournament fishing.

Maybe I’m thinking too simple but have you ever tried throwing a soft bodied fluke around the areas you were in? They seemed to hit the jerk bait and the fluke would be doing essentially the same thing, but you could work it even slower and around the thick stuff without having to worry about the trebles getting hung up.
@tylerzulewski2424Ай бұрын
Just got to the point in the video where you did this 😂😂 never mind haha
@BloodCrow1698Ай бұрын
Maybe you are getting burnt out on tournament fishing, instead of fishing for the enjoyment of it? I used to draw all the time, but then I started doing it for money I lost interest in it, so I stopped altogether. Sometimes you have to step away from something you enjoy doing to give yourself time to start to enjoy it again. Just a thought. You make videos weekly and do tournaments, I can imagine it feels more like a job, at this point. Myself and A lot of your subscribers enjoy watching you go out and just fish with no pressure like most of us do. Hell, you're the reason I got into kayak fishing in the first place.

You are a shoreline bass fisherman that’s it. You won’t grow, thus leaving early due to frustration. Number one rule of fishing, fish where the fish are at. If you know you know what I mean, if not you will be upset. Have You ever caught a bass trolling a rooster tail. Using a Jig. Using a spoon. Using the worm technique I sent you (twice) that is being used in Japan not in the states with a plastic worm. Using your instruments and getting all of them etc…
@DanxiongАй бұрын
If you watch his vids you’ll see he’s grown a lot as an angler, he’s quite versatile as far as fishing shallow, also uses the jig pretty often, he does use the spoon, trolling isn’t allowed in tournaments. Just on top of my head I can think of 3 things that he’s gained confidence on this year, shakey head, swim jig, and swim baits (glide baits included). People have their own strengths and preferences, some prefer shallow fishing, others prefer offshore and some are just good all around. I get where you’re coming from about adjusting but he just won angler of the year last year, I can’t blame him for trying to repeat that magical season.
