Sending admiration and some sympathy from Ontario, Canada 🇨🇦 🍁. I kayak fish 5 or 6 days a week from May to Oct. Pike, bass, lake trout, and walleye (cousins to European Zander). On many weekdays, on many lakes, I don't see another boat on the water. All 20-40 min drive from the seasonal campground where I keep my modest travel trailer (I believe you'd call it a caravan). As a Norwegian i would be REALLY disappointed with that catch but you seem pretty happy so i assume that's deacent for there and i am glad you are having a good time. Cool little boat and it gets the job done so all in all a nice little vid:)
@dougaldawson50832 ай бұрын
Correct. That's why so many uk anglers go to Norway to fish. A 10lb cod is considered a specimen size here and they're not common.
@MrKveite12 ай бұрын
@@dougaldawson5083 Thats true, i go down to the local bathing spot or family beach or whatever you call it an catch 10 pounders all winter in just 2 meters of water so i see your point. I still watch and enjoy the vid as it is about having a good time an not about the size all the time.
@dougaldawson5083Ай бұрын
@MrKveite1 I've been after a double figure shore cod from NE Scotland for over 20 years 🤣 current pb is 9lb 5oz. I've lost a few that were likely between 15-20lb but still hunting my first double
@MrKveite1Ай бұрын
@@dougaldawson5083 Well chasing a dream fish is hard here too for most people since they have limited time to go fishing as they have a family, work, maybe they are in some kind of position in a sport that the kids do etc etc and also just tired from work and all the daily jazz. Then money plays a role too. how much are people willing to spend on gear, boat, fishing permits etc etc. I have dream fish to catch too although a lot higher weight. I am looking for that 66.22 pound cod. Same for salmon and obv the 440+ pound Halibut. Odds are slim for all of them but if i am willing to spend the money to go up to north norway and stay there at the apropriate times for cod and halibut it's doable but not easy.When it comes to the salmon i consider it basicly impossible but i have a 56 pounder so the hope is always there :)

Excellent. You make such entertaining videos. Would love to know about the rod, reel, line etc you use. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
@UntouchedFishing2 ай бұрын
Thanks very much Paul. I will discuss it in a future video for you. The tackle I use for most if my sea fishing is a: abu Garcia beast pro((40-120g) this is way too heavy for a lot of people to be honest for lure fishing in the sea but I love its ability to cast 60g metals some serious distance) I actually discuss it briefly in a video which I made up in Skye just over a year ago. ill link it on that video below this comment. Reel: this vid was a Diawa bg magseal 4000. I also own a bg mq 6000 which is too big really for sea fishing again but a fantastic reel. ( you might be able to tell that I used to do a lot of pike fishing😂) Line: j braid. this vid 30lb. ( the thinner, the further youll cast but i like 30-40lb 8 strand so theres a good chance to get tackle out of snags. As you can probably see I could go on all evening about this- sorry about the lengthy reply ! vid: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3q3h2N4lqppr8U

There's lots of places on the Scottish islands that are really remote and have hardly ever been fished e.g. the Gulf of Corryvreckan between Jura and Scarba. This is an amazing tide race, lots of fast deep water, and probably has loads of fish. But you can't fish it from a boat and it's a long walk to get there on foot - 28 miles from the ferry. I've been camping there but not fishing. Been on my fishing wish list for years.
