Fishing the SWAN RIVER in 2023 - Australia Fishing Compilation

2023 FISHING HIGHLIGHTS - The year is almost over! And what a year it’s been - from the creation of this channel until now, with nearly 400 subscribers - about 398 more than I thought I’d get! I must extend a thanks to each and every one of you. Thank you for the views, the subscriptions, the comments and the encouragement. I’ve met some awesome people on here who share my passion for fishing and kayaking in the Perth Metro Area. It’s just made me love it more - and I’ll continue making videos for as long as it’s fun to do. So thanks!
For this vid, I decided to use footage taken from a number of ‘quick flick sessions’ I’ve done over the past few months - a compilation of my best (and worst) river sessions.
Bream, flathead, tailor, crabs, snapper and even a big dirty mullet - this vid has it all. I’ve travelled to a few well-known fishing spots, including Applecross Jetty, Point Walter and Bicton. I’ve fished from the jetties, the flats and the kayak. The Swan River truly has it all for the keen angler!

Nice video. I find when the Night Heron turns up, the fish are biting. When he leaves, so do the fish. I always chuck a small trumpeter or whiting their way. Keep up the fishing vids. Great to watch 😊

Yeah they tend to hang around when the fishing's good. I don't mind the company, and they do get the odd trumpeter from me as well 😁 cheers for watching 👍🎣

love it.. that’s a good idea to deal with insomnia positively. Thank you for sharing. I just started fishing yesterday and got my first 2 breams in South Perth Jetty. Can you please summary and guide us newbies of season/fish type if possible. Thank you.

Thank you, much appreciated and well done on the bream! Good thing about the Swan is there's plenty to catch. At this time of year I tend to focus on tailor/bream in the river, and squid from the beaches. Bream are everywhere, but better further upriver if you want to avoid all the blowfish. Tailor can be caught on sunrise/sunset from most jetties around South Perth - silver twisty lures word wonders, as does casting out mulies on a set of gang hooks. I prefer to fish from the Kayak at this time of year, but do fish from the banks with the kids here and there. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 👍🐟

Thanks mate, much appreciated! Can definitely recommend kayak fishing - great fun. Depends what you want to get into, how big you want the kayak, how much you're willing to spend etc. I'd hit up marketplace or the like to check out what's there. Personally, I love my Bay Sports kayak. They're great and not overly expensive. Hope this helps and thanks again 🎣👍
