Going barefoot in the grass, nice. Looks like fire ants haven't made it to Wisconsin. The "spinning wheel" is for sharpening axes, tools and knives. I remember watching my grandad using his.

Love watching your videos. My first fishing experience was when I was about 8 our family went to Pecos Monastery to fish. We really didn't fishing poles so my dad made mine from a branch, put a fishing hook and line on my branch, my dad helped me put it in the water, I caught my first fish, I hit it with my branch pole, unfortunately I killed it. This experience has stayed with me for 71 years. 😊🎏

Lived in Idaho for a couple of years. We went fishing on the Snake River for rainbow trout. Absolutely beautiful. Had a black lab at the time. The dork got excited and snatched a gorgeous trout off my line. I miss fishing. Hopefully we can stock our small pond on the 70 acres we just bought so I can sneak off and do some fishing on my own.

Practically any lake in Minnesota but from what I understand, Clear Lake near Jackson, Minnesota has some of the best walleye fishing anywhere. But if you want the "big'uns" go to almost any lake near Alexandria, Minnesota and try for a Northern Pike. They can be monsters and will usually put up quite the fight. Most lakes in Minnesota have them but Alexandria is where I caught my first one! Great fishing there! Heck, 10,000 Lakes, there is good fishing most places. We have catfish but the dominant fish in many lakes here are Bullheads. Think smaller, darker and slimier than a catfish. They don't have scales so yeah...slimier.

This was my childhood growing up in Minn. Northerns had a lot of bones but picked them and ate them back then - I guess now easier to debone. Had a lot of sunfish and walleye but it was more of a challenge to catch Walleye then Northerns. Loved siting out on the lakes in a boat. Just picturesque and relaxing.

Just drive to Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes. You can drive to Isanti and see the headwaters of the mighty Mississippi. You can walk across it at that point. Mille Lacs Lake has big walleye and northern. Cute little towns too, like Nisswa. So many lakes to choose from here. You could take a drive up Highway 61 to the north shore of Lake Superior. Watch the big ships come in. Great rock hunting along the beaches. Rock and crystal shops around. I wish I had a travel partner these days. Lots of little waterfalls around. It's just beautiful here. Or, come in winter and ice fish, though not my favorite. Loved watching your excitement. When I lived in Apple Valley,my boys were little. I taught them how to fish at the lake 3 blocks away and at the other lake 5 blocks away. One evening they came home with 3 sunfish they wanted to keep as pets. We filled a 55 gallon barrel with water and they kept them for 3 days. Their vacation was over, I told the boys, and we brought them back home to the lake. Ahh,what memories. Loved watching this a second time. Thank you Amberly and Austin!

You guys did great catching those walleyes and perch. You should go up to the great lakes. I went to Lake Ontario fishing for Walleyes and caught 5 big ones, and the largest one was 32" and weight was 14 lbs. !!! The smallest one was 28" and weight was 11 1/2 lbs. I see you guys love to fish, so when you have some down time, get out there and get some big fish!!!!! Look up some guides in the great lakes, and ask what species they have and tell them what you are wanting to catch. Best of luck to you both!!

Walking in the grass without shoes is nice, but 1. NOT in the south!!! Too many fire ant hills, and wasps/yellow jackets/bees in the clover! and 2. DEFINITELY NOT if you’re DIABETIC!!! Diabetics get diabetic neuropathy in their feet & that’s a good way to get injured and not know it, leading to ulcers, etc., which can lead to amputations being needed! If you’re looking for some good places to fish, I know some great ones for bass, catfish, & bluegill around the Charleston, SC area. Hit me up! Or better yet, take me with you! I enjoyed watching your video! Great job, Amberly! Nice to see a woman fishing!

This is called catch and release. Fishing is when you are out catching dinner. Dinner is called a fish fry, done over an open fire, with a cast iron pot of hot oil. If I am not catching for dinner, then I take a cooler of diet pespi, lawn chair, fishing pole, bait, good book to read and sit on the bank. That is called relaxing and enjoying the great outdoors. Getting in a boat and being on the lake is to much work to just throw them back. Remembering when I went bass fishing with my Dad. We were camping, and we would eat what we caught. Amberly, "Hall" is my maiden name. Just thought I would throw that one out there.
