Nice fishing was good seeing the lures in action 👍 can't believe how shallow it is, my baths deeper than that 😂
@EngineeredAngler Жыл бұрын
It takes some getting used to. But the shallow water is the reason I started making my own lures. I wanted lures specific to shallow water fishing

Love this content! I’m with ya! I’ll use artificial 99% of the time. Baits I make and or paint. Won 13 tournaments in a row on a rig in the mid 90’s I developed and produced. 15 years later comes along the Alabama rig. Same principle and layout as mine, except they used a hard plastic body and I used lead set up and painted like a jig.

Blue fish are good eating, in Australia we call them "Tailor", we get a big run through winter months & can get very big nice video
@pakde8002 Жыл бұрын
Great video and you really showed that not only can you make effective lures but you also know how and where to use them for maximum results. But I would have brought the tailor home for the smoker. 😅
@EngineeredAngler Жыл бұрын
Yup I usually smoke them too.

You should do a video on how lip shape and size affect lure action. That would be awesome!

Looked like a great day's fishing mate. Top video as ever. Hey would you consider doing a video on basics of rod, reel, knot and line selection? Just from a basic point of view. I really trust you opinions and know they are based on actual knowledge and testing, so would be keen for something like this if you have time. Anyway thanks again Franco, love ur work 👌

I was considering doing a video on rod and reel selection from an engineers point of view...maybe I should do it.

If you're losing lots of fish or not hooking them on a specific bait maybe you need different hooks, or bigger gaps on the same size hook. I like the "fat belly" lure you said will find fish. Seems like that design is worth reproducing and modifying and painting with different colors. It reminded me of a pinfish shape and there aren't enough good pinfish imitations. It's cool to see you catching fish on the lures you make. I need help making a mold for a bait I want to make. It's a critter that saltwater fish eat, from the beach to way offshore, and nobody makes it. Could be hard but soft plastics would probably work better. I made a few and realized I need help. I also have ideas for jig heads that would be awesome and nobody sells. Same story, I made some and the idea is good but I didn't have much luck making the molds. Let me know if you want to collaborate, it could be very lucrative for both of us.

Great video as always! As a fisherman in the Midwest, I don’t ever see these types of fish. You mention Jack, Ladyfish, and catfish as species you’re trying to avoid… Why those? Thanks for the always entertaining and informative content!

Do you ever use any spray scents? I have heard of people using garlic and back in the 90's, we tried several different scents but honestly the only one that really seemed to work was WD40 which destroys your lures pretty quickly.
@EngineeredAngler Жыл бұрын
There are some natural sentes like shrimp, crab that kind of thing that I've used that seemed to work. But I just feel like having that stinky stuff on my boat isn't worth it.

Hello sir. Still watching this video but i have a question related to your engineering job? Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical? Or am i totally off. If you answered this already somewhere, I'll go watch a video if you leave a link. I enjoy seeing you calculating sink weights, floating, suspending, etc. And I've never witbessed you messing up. Thanks for the time and effort you donate on top of your other full time job to produce excellent content.
