Hi Graeme this video has cheered me up after 3 blank sessions after Tench on my local river. It’s about 12 ft deep on average with about 9 ft of weed but I know the fish are there it’s just I can’t catch one, at the moment! Persistence required Tight Lines

There's a Weir pool in a place called offord near Cambridge I think you and Mike would enjoy it, full of big pike, I've had perch to 4lb and there a lot of specimen tench and bream about!

If you ever come by Staffordshire check out the horns pool fishery in slitting mill, fishes very well especially with pellet and muscles only down side is bread and floating baits are band. £7 a day ticket also the bailiffs are very friendly

There is a lake in county Wexford crawling with carp called Oakland’s lake were there is hundreds of decent sized carp eating off the surface, any suggestions on how to single out the tench? I’ve never seen one, but I’ve heard about some big ones being caught

Never caught a tench. Looks like they take the same as everything else up here on the bure. The grass weed is very high now and thick, so fishing is hard. I suppose one thing is the fish have no choice but to root through it so even a poorly presented bait stands a chance. Thanks guy thoroughly enjoyed it

I'm thinking a lot of of those pin prick bubbles are oxygen escaping from the debris on the floor, my old man taught me that if the bubbles stay in on place then it's more than likely oxygen whereas if it's a fish ie a tench they will move in lines as the fish moves

also a lot of the oxygen bubbles are caused by the tench feeding but will carry on bubbling after the fish has moved on due to the disturbance the fish caused

The secret is finding the right size bubbles. Tench tend to make small,foamy type pin bubbles ,while debris or gas bubbles are much larger. In the film I point out three different fish over my bait ,or "fizzing" as some Tench anglers call it.

TAFishing this could be a whole new subject lol as I believe different types of decaying material give different bubble types but you are totally correct in the right location I also find bream bubbles are pretty similar to tench but they cover a larger area feeding as a shoal fish, my god when did fishing get this complicated lol best wishes graham tight lines old chap

Need help dont know what i am doing wrong with my fishing my line keeps springing back around the end of my rod any help put new line on and left it in warm water tried lubing line for casting ?????

Have you filled the reel by letting the filler spool rotate,or by winding it on from the ends of the filler spool which can put a twist in the line if not done correctly...Or it could be that you are winding the reel handle with the drag too slack and you are putting twist in the line ? It sounds like line twist to me. Take it out on a playing field ,get someone to hold the rod and walk around 40 yards off. Go back to the rod tip and pull the line from tip towards end under tension.If you have line twist it will soon curl itself.If it does,try and smooth the curls out in sections under tension until its straight. Might solve your problem.

Thankyou for the quick reply,i just was winding it on by tying a snare like knot at the bottom of the filler spool and just winding it on and holding the rod just above the spool with my line on my finger to put tension on it and to get rid of any knots or twists but it still came out all over my rod tip.

We live in the South,several T-storms been through ,plus Wales,Midlands etc ,plenty of people experienced a bit of rain,including Somerset where our last beach film done(Film up last Friday). Everywhere seems tinder dry though,not long before we get a few wildfires I reckon. Usually when strong dry winds start.
