You're only the second person I have ever seen, that caught on garden peas. All the old books said you could, but I never had a sniff. One day in the very late 70's a stranger came down to our water, took out a jam jar full of garden peas and had an amazing session. The water was 3/4 of an acre and the guy had a net full but many of the fish were hybrids, a species very seldom caught on our pond. We never saw him again and despite many people's best efforts no fish ever succumbed to garden peas again, and I never did catch a hybrid from there in 15 years of angling. That's fishing!

@@TAFishing So as promised Smith, have experimented a little over this weekend with peas, maggots and peas, sweetcorn and peas, and just plain old peas, and my findings are looking promising for the use of peas as bait for coarse angling. The caught species included commons, mirrors, Rudd, and a rather nice sized roach. Techniques used were float and ledger. Brilliant fun Graeme!👍🏻 Anyway, keep doing what you do look forward to the next video 👍🏻👍🏻🎣🎣

I realise this is a very old video, but after watching it earlier this week I decided to take a few frozen peas with me on a pole fishing session to a small lake holding most species, including small carp, to 4lb. It’s a hard water to fish, not a commercial “fishing in a bucket” lake. After very little success on paste, pellets nor corn I decided to try a pea as hook bait. 32 Carp (plus 2 Tench and a Rudd) later I can safely say that peas may be my new favourite bait. The two other anglers on the lake thought I was joking when they asked what bait I was using. Thanks for the great tip!
@TAFishing Жыл бұрын
Wow,that's some catch..I think I found tipping the pea with either a maggot or tiny worm also works well .And its just another Supermarket bait that works...

I've brought a cordless drill to the docks i fish from and drill holes to fit pole holders in the dock. The holes are small enough you won't notice them but it makes it real convenient to fish. You could use a threaded rod to hold your bite alarm and stick it in holes drilled in the edge of the dock. Just make sure to drill through the wood so water won't collect and rot the wood.

What a day! I'd not believed it without seeing it! WOW! BRAVO!! excellent video. I've been telling my mates for years to keep it simple. they spend silly amounts of money on tackle and bait. The only thing I would say is get your landing net in earlier, that way you won't spook the fish as it comes up and closer to the net.

I even stopped the video for the Canadian geese- 4 of us went down to Arizona golfing in the winter ( from Canada) - we were at a golf course and the managreress found out we were Canadain and demanded we take the geese back to Canada as the geese prefer to do their “Bizzness” on the greens at the golf course- we thought it was hilarious but they are actually very nasty birds, but being friendly Canadians - we share them with every body!! @rrplanb40306 жыл бұрын
That is a top idea. Corn is easier to hook and stays on better I would think. But would it defeat peas? Especially if the fish were pre-baited with a mix of both baits for a few days before.
