Hemp and bread fishing on the Suffolk Stour

My first video of actual fishing I spent a few hours on the Suffolk Stour fishing the hemp and also trying the bread as well , I hope you enjoy the video as I did all of the filming and editing myself I look forward to your feedback to encourage me to continue with the content.

Very enjoyable Ian , also has to be said nice what you said at the start about line and the presentation of your rig and bait , I see a lot of guys that get it wrong , it’s always nice to be able to put them right , regarding line as you know you want a floating line , and a nice long rod to keep that line directly behind the float , Some wonderful roach you had Ian always a pleasure to watch your videos , ok hope to see you along SF a bit later in the season , all the best mate 👍🏻

Maybe you should have shallowed up on the hemp ? Before putting the bread through, just saying boy ,good bag quality video

That pike followed the roach you caught around 11minutes 30seconds in....did you spot it??

Yes Mark I did spot it I had a lot of Jack’s coming at the roach all day that’s why I was swinging them in so quick we’ll spotted 👀

Hi Ian, I notice at the start of this video you opening up a gate, so presumably you're fishing club water? I've been looking for some nice quiet bits of river to fish since I moved to Suffolk, but they seem to be few and far between. Can you tell me which club you belong to please, if that is the case? Hi Gary yes it was a club water and I belong to the colchester piscatorial society They have a few nice stretches hope this helps Ian

@@ipfishing1466 Thanks Ian, I'll go look that club up then. Have you fished the stretch between flatford mill and Stratford? I've walked that stretch for many years and I think it used to be a day ticket section that you got from Flatford Mill, but now it's free. So I'm planning to give that a go over the winter. Probably spinning for Perch and Pike.

@@SONGSTICKS I fished it years ago and it used to be great fishing along there not sure if it’s still free or if anybody owns it now. Ian

@@ipfishing1466 Well... we went for a walk along there about 2 or 3 months ago and I asked a local, who said "yes... it's now Free to fish" but who knows. Personally, I think all natural rivers should be free to fish to anyone with a rod license.
