Just a comment if you don’t mind, been fishing Taneycomo over 30 years. Bumping along and then no bumps means a hole, and Trout like sitting in those holes. Lowering the rod tip lowers bait into the hole, and BAM, fish on! Thanks.

Yea- there's not much to fish a worm BUT injecting with air improves your chance of getting bit by 4 times. I've set out 2 rods- identical line, hooks and bait (night crawler) in same spot and had 4 bites to 1, aired up worm vs no air. The other - drifting - is just showing what is a bite and what is the bottom. Also, setting the hook at the best time... it's important.

Since that fishing destination holds trout, have you ever tried a fly rod?

In reply to Tristan's comments about setting the hook too hard- how hard you need to set the hook depends on a couple of things. One is the length and action of your rod. If the rod is medium light like the one I use in this video, you need to set the hook pretty hard to get the hook to set in the fish's mouth. Second would be line size and material. Smaller diameter line- like 4-pound mono- this line stretches pretty good, another reason the need to really set hard and fast. Believe me, it doesn't hurt the fish at all.

I am fishing about 4 miles below the dam, 5 miles above the Branson Landing.

Actually I fly fish 70% and spin fish 30% of the time. Spin fish using jigs. I don't use worms unless I'm taking kids fishing. Thanks for asking!

Kaighon we use injectors similar to syringes to inject air into nightcrawlers. This is done to float the worm above weeds so that trout can see it better.
