Excellent video to watch. Beautifully explained. As someone who used to fly fish this was a great refresher course. I will definitely be getting my fly fishing kit back in use. Thank you. I course fish all the time but when a trout takes the fly on light fishing tackle there’s nothing to beat the feeling.

Nicely explained. Not many people talk about degreasing the line. Thanks for that tip 👍🏻

This video made me so happy. Have fished fresh water for a long time but never learned how to trout fish. Getting ready to go to the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and am going to give it a try. Thank you for sharing.

A well done class! Thank you very much. I use foam instead of stick. Otherwise, fine. The technique is very effective. Of course since we return the fish to the water it does not matter.

Two really nice rainbows. I noticed the water was stained. What colors do you prefer in both stained and very clear water let's say on a buzzer.
@Sakuraba1982Gaming8 жыл бұрын
Robert Plewnarz I tend to use black if the water is stained....the old saying goes the darker the water the darker the fly

Those farmed fish are thick and will bite on a bit of wool tied on a hook. Try wild brown trout in a mountain lake in western Norway.

Michael Brant how do you know he has not fished for wild brown trout? This video was filmed for fishing tv in a series which contains a river fishing episode

Do you know the scientific name of the buzzer fly? I am across the pond and we typically see mayfly's here. From the look of the fly I doubt its the same species.
@abcxyz96434 жыл бұрын
I think we call it the midge fly after further research.

When fishing for rainbow trout I'd say egg flies probably look more like pellets to the fish. That in mind, and adding a float, is not my style of fly fishing. Probably effective method though, one can't argue with that. Might as well pick it straight up from the breeding pool with a hand net.
@Sakuraba1982Gaming8 жыл бұрын
Ronnie Alsing you don't have to fish static when you use an indicator. Subtle movements with lifts and drops make the difference when buzzer fishing. I have added it to my tool bag and doubled my catch rate. The orange blobs are a touchy subject though .... if it's a tough day and Nothing else is working fishing an orange blob is a sure fire way to catch some rainbows. I have seen stalkers taking double figure fish jiggling and orange blob under a fishes nose.

Brian Boyle nice attitude mate... you seem like a genuine nice guy a real credit to the sport. It’s tedious seeing your type on every still water fly fishing video preaching about the ancient code of fly fishing. One would ask the question if you guys don’t like it then why did you always come to the video to be grumpy in the comments?
@alanminshall18245 жыл бұрын
If you are going to use a float, why don't you use a 16 metre pole?
@georgepeel10685 жыл бұрын
I agree Alan, I can’t understand fly fisherman using a float because that’s what an indicator is.

"just kicking away" yeah right buddy. that fish was so long out of water you killed it.
@hadouke20506 жыл бұрын
way to kill a fish ATTENTION NEW FLY FISHERS DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT KEEP A FISH OUT OF WATER THIS LONG YOU WILL KILL IT ! this host is terrible i just clicked this video just cause out of boredaom but jesus that fish wasnt kicking because it was fighting being caught it was struggling to breathe and he sure talked for a minute with it out of water.....dead fish good job

You people that are talking trash I’ve seen your type you have 5000 bucks worth of gear and you talk about catching wild trout but you fish for for a whole day and catch a half a dozen fish and tell everyone what a good day not me I don’t care if they’re dough belly’s or wild fish i go to get my string streched
