To heavy and easily damaged. I was at a flooded launch with tons of wood launching a couple of weekends ago (Kingston City Park). Just an FYI they come factory rigged with Mercury all the time. Mine has a Mercury and also several at the local shop. Just has to do with how it is ordered or what the shop can service. Manufactures will offer a few motor options and they can also let the dealer order any motor brand and install at the dealer. Mine does Zuki and Merc so those are the only ones that dealer will order.

I agree about brakes on the trailer, I have the Procat 240 and its a pig. I haul my boat with a 98 Chevy 1500 and the boat is a little bit much for the small truck, it really pushes the truck when you try to brake hard. You have to be a super defensive driver and keep lots of space between you and the person ahead of you. Motor wise, I have a Suzuki 250 SS on mine, love that motor. Quiet and with 700 pound of fish and 6 guys in the boat ( including me), I can still run 50 MPH if I need to, usually I run 35mph or a little under 4k rpm for fuel savings, that 40 gallon tank gets drained quick on a 250. The only problems I have had with the boat is my wash down pump is no longer working, it stopped working within the first year. It is really damned weak anyways, I usually just fill up a 5 gallon bucket of water and wash down the deck that way and if needed, I keep a scrubby brush on the boat. They also forgot to plug in the hose for the speedometer, which inst a problem because I wouldn't use it anyways. The last problem is the fuel primer ball likes to ride up and pinch the fuel line. Trying to figure a way to fix that problem. It stranded me 10 miles from a ramp down river with customers on the boat once. That 'extra filter' next to the primer ball, that would be a water separator to get the water out of your fuel before it goes to the motor. Make sure to drain it from time to time. As for the Oxygenation system, spoonbill have damned near destroyed mine. I need to figure out a way to protect it from them. Mine seems to work OK but I think I will be upgrading the unit if I decide to do any more catfish tournaments. You could carry Hydrogen Peroxide with you, in case you need to get an oxygen in the water in an emergency to keep fish alive. That is a bass fisherman's trick I learned. That front live well works good in early Spring, late Fall and Winter for bait. It doesn't work so great during the summer though, as it takes the warm top water and puts it into the tank. Works good for perch to keep away from your shad if you run a bait tank. During Spoonbill season, I keep extra stuff in it, like rain jackets etc. Does your boat like to throw fuel at you when you fill it up? mine loves to spit it up on my hand. I find running the pump as slow as possible and listening to the fuel so when it gets close you can then trickle it in until you are topped off. Also, always wear gloves when fueling up, especially if you are fueling up before a trip. Dont want gas on your hand that you touch your bait with. As for the hole from the window. Go to a shop that does Bimini tops, they can make you a little piece to span the gap and install some snaps and you can snap it right on. There are some things I would like change, hopefully the Procat lasts me a couple more seasons and I can upgrade.
@Capt_Billy4 жыл бұрын
My boat doesn't throw fuel when I fill it up thankfully. I was thinking the same thing about the hole. The enclosure SeaArk sells for this boat does the same to fill that hole. Thanks for the long reply!
@midmissouricatfishing4314 жыл бұрын
@@Capt_Billy You might be able to get the hole filled for half the cost at another place than buying from SeaArk. I bought my Bimini top from SeaArk and they cheaped out on 1 part which broke during a gust of wind and twisted up my top. I ended up spending $25 an aluminum replacement and had no issues since. I was never able to get the top straight again though, not too much of a problem, just annoying more than anything.

Could you mount rod bases on your rear deck in front of your livewell? I have an excel and that's how I did mine. I can reach my rods without getting out of my chair. I hate the rod racks everyone has, it makes it a pain to get on the back deck.

A lot of people are switching to MulTBar style rod holders and that's exactly why I love my cat rack. Seems dumb to me to step UP on the back deck, just to bend DOWN to pick up the rod. My cat rack sits just far enough back to pick up a rod while standing in the floor, but I can still step up on the deck to fight a fish if I want. Different strokes I guess!

I have a 2014 SeaArk Procat 200. Overall it's ok. The fit and finish on the boat is horrible INHO, especially in areas you don't normally see. For instance, whenever they had to cut a hole to route something, or install an access, it looks like they turned a 10-year old loose with a saws-all. Even on the main panels / portions of the boat that you can see, the flooring panels are cut unevenly, screws are installed at angles and just forced in in many locations, some screws are missing where needed. The wiring is a complete joke, especially under the dash. It is a heavy duty bastard, I'll give it that. And the 175 Suzuki is a keeper. But you are going to work in the bilge or anywhere else where the saws-all masters went at it, better have a sewing kit handy and a few pints of blood, whatever type you are. First and last Ark I will own, guaranteed . May try a G3 or Express next time.
