You can pick up 3 packs of cutting boards, cheap, at stores like Ross, T.J. Max, Home Goods. But I agree with you, to just get a new one for the kitchen, and recycle the old ones in the shop! I have a small stack I use all the time in my home shop, for cutting and crafting. They make a good cooler dividers / cutting board, on big coolers! Or small outdoor rig tables w/ a cup holder, inserted in them, on a beach rod holder. And you can work with it like wood.

To go along with your melting lures back together, use a sharp tip soldering iron to melt them back together. For years I used a crappie jig that wasn't sold in my area. Before they would get totally destroyed I'd melt them back together using a soldering iron and glue them back on the hook. Those things would last forever.

I rub a screwdriver blade over the ends of all my sliding sinkers to make them smooth! I use a bicycle spoke with a sharpened point to push thru every sinker hole few times to make them smooth inside! Or a thinner wire to do same for sinkers with narrower holes! Electrical wire tubes can also be used for inside sliding sinkers, cut the length, pull wire out of it's tube! 🎣

I have been using plastic stirrers, 5000 for 4$, to put in sinkers for a fw years. But I wanted something heavier for making bobbers. These would work. For the sinker slides you need to make then using paperclips, it was your idea to use paperclips in the first place. With the 3M sticky pad they can come loose if they get hot/warm enough. Just an FYI.

Hacks #2&3 were AWESOME!! #4 was discovering a technique that open poor bait makers use all the time, 👊 and for #5, you can 1) switch to using a Dremel tool to grind away the tabs, or 2) if your cutting with a blade, use heat to soften the plastic where you cut. The foam will reinforce the bottom enough to compensate for minor softening.
