Fishman preamp/pickup repair

Thx, my AUra Pro doesnt amplify. I got a replacement and it doesnt download Aura gallery images. Yea, thats no good. I used the orginal to diagnose the replacement that apparently has a failed port. After watching your video I see the plug was turned and shorted out causing the guitar to not amplify. Probably an all too common user problem. Ive looked at mine but it looks good so Im going to tin the wires making sure theres no cold solder joint. Anyway thx for the video, it got me thinking.

I got from Marketplace a used Cort MR700F BKS that come up with Fishmann Classic 4T. But it appear with a noisy sound from the preamp. How to fox it u?

Hey man. First thing to try is clean the jack socket with contact cleaner. And do the sliders for eq and the battery contacts. Normally it's down to these being slightly corroded. Making a bad earth.

Nice, how do you fix them when they do not tune the strings properly?

Hi alot of times simple is best. start with a fresh battery and try using some contact cleaner. if you open up the unit then you can have a good clean on the boards. check for loose contacts on any small cables and the input jack on the guitar, mine was twisted together from being loose. Its really trial and error but start small.

You got it working that’s great! Have you ever tried to replace Martin Aura pick up? Mine seems to have a grounding noise, I think it’s the red ribbon pick up? I can make it go away for a little while, I think it got pinched under saddle?

Hi there , no i haven't only the one in the video for a friend but it turned out ok, the jack input was also a big part of the problem, maybe check that the wires are good to the input jack also on your guitar.

It would have been really helpful if you wouldn't shake the camera around or if you wouldn't move around each part in your hand. I felt like I was watching a Jason Bourne "shaky cam" movie. Please try to hold the camera and the parts steady so we can see what you are trying to show us. Other than that, your video was very useful.

Hi there i think you meant to say full of rust, If it works just pry out the pickup give the cavity a good cleanout with an old toothbrush or ear bud cotton and lightly wipe over the pickup with some electrical cleaner on a cloth or another ear bud, wd40 will also work, just to get the worst off should be ok after that.

How exactly did you diagnose the issue? I'm worried about having to get a multimeter and logic board diagram and have to do soldering etc

Hi there basically the tuner did not come on so i went in deep and found the switch was faulty, now i know you can buy a box of switches cheap and really it is just four small soldering joints, not to difficult. It all depends on the problem your having?

@@TheSession06 that's my issue, my tuner won't turn on, but as far as i know it could have been a short, or the leads from the battery are faulty, etc. I was wondering if you like did a series of diagnoses and what that looked like. Thanks for taking the time to respond!

@@CornerOfTheOval i didn't exactly do a diagnosis the tuner would flicker on when pushing down the button so i kind of thought switch straight away. i would suggest you open up the control box an have a look for anything obvious but it could be the same problem, maybe you get lucky and find somthing else but for a few bucks you can get the switch no problem. good luck my friend

Very impressed. Can I send my fishman pro (cort acoustic) to you for repair. If so how do I contact your business. The peizo works fine but if I slide over to the mic it's dead. I think I may have reversed the battery polarity by mistake.

Hi there, I would love to help fix your guitar but i really dont do this as a buisness, it was a favor for a friend so i filmed it anyway for imformational reasons. It would be cheaper for you to have somone locally look at it or maybe buy a new unit or a reconditioned one. Sorry i can't do more for you.
