Fishroom closure, down sizing in the hobby.

Been there Andy. Over 50 years of keeping every type of fish and creatures there are as a hobby and profession. Now I just have the 240 gallon natural type aquarium. Energy is not cheap nor is water. It was all great when I was younger.👍👍

Andy, I’m breeding wild caught Narino Red Terror Festea. The wilds are in separate tanks, a 125 and a 120. Tomorrow I’m picking up 9, 4” f1 Narino and I’m turning my 220 gallon into a Festea tank like yours. I also picked up 11 Mascara Barbs - very similar to the Filament Barbs. I’m just a little excited and wanted you to know the influence you’ve had on me! Thanks for everything!

I’ve never heard the term pisshead but I’ll have to remember that one. I went from 20 tanks down to 3 large ones and a nano in the kitchen. There are days when I see new fish centrals I would like to keep but I don’t miss all the time I spent cleaning/working on tanks. You look great lad!

Hello Andy.. Been following you for quite some time.. I understand the downsize. I had a go at a breeding room with 29 tanks and it was going great until I fell ill for 2 weeks. Keeping care of those and 3 tanks in house was tough. So, I decided to sell off everything and build, the 1 - 1210g system in office as the only tank. It was much easier and no stress. I then, after 6 years, decided to make that a 660g system to save electricity and water. After another year I built a 300g tank for dining room, cuz the addiction flared a bit. The WCs are simple because of predrilled drains, and hoses nearby. Just turn valves, and do filters and glass while water does its own thing. Your fish and tanks look as amazing as ever. Enjoy many more years of easier fishkeeping !! I think pissheads are cool !

At one point in time. I had around 6,000gallons of tanks Biggest was a 220. Smallest a 20g Since then. I have a single 75gallon. And a 5gallon bow front Do what makes your life easier man. I can definitely relate to motorcycles. I ride 1500 miles every 2 weeks Pisshead!

I have a dovii I called him Wolfy after yours.. hope you don’t mind 😊 Wolfy was my favourite of your fish but I know he was getting old and like you said the extra work with maintenance with bigger fish. I hope mine grows as big and awesome as yours 😊 I’m looking forward to your future updates 👍👍
