On Waco Wednesday I returned to the Nolan river at Blum and found the whitebass right where I left them last Friday..
I can tell you all that the whitebass spawning run is following the typical timeframe..
Slowing in the southwest and peaking northeast ..
The run will probably be mostly complete by the next full moon..
I’m finding fish that show all the signs of spawning stress and fatigue.
A really good rush of flood water will ensure the success of the spawn and push the fish back out of the creeks to the lake where the shad spawn will bring them to the shoreline every morning for some fast action on the fly!
