I have a question. Can the smart panel 2 be used as a stand alone breaker box. Im currently living off grid and building a tiny home. If so I'd use this panel with my offgrid life.

Thank you for your great videos! I recently purchased the DPU and SHP2 system, but I haven't installed them yet. I'm currently deciding which loads to transfer to the SHP2. I have a question about disaster recovery if the SHP2 experiences a fault. Do you know what the default behavior of the circuit-level relay is if the panel encounters an issue? The user manual mentions manually transferring the source from the grid and the generator, but it doesn't specify what happens if some control modules in the panel fail. Will the loads remain energized, or will the entire circuit-level relayers shut down, cutting power to all loads? I appreciate any insights you can provide!

I also live in TX and i am considering the ultra and panel 2 and solar, mainly to : emergency, and i wish to reduce my electric bill of about $350. Have few questions: How you calculate the size of the solar panels to charge the ultra to charge in about 3 to 4 hours? Do you advise but the ultra with the installation option or without the install option? I have not solar panels yet , any advice what to buy and who may install them? Thanks

Did you have to pull a permit for this?
@IMAGINATIONxCREATIONАй бұрын
William, Thanks for the review. Good job. I own a DPU with 2 batteries. When charging and discharging do you see a difference in SOC between the batteries? I see about a 4-5% difference between my batteries and a about a 7-8 degree running temp delta. With the battery closest to the DPU always running a hotter temp. I think the higher temp for the top battery is normal as ALL the power from the lower battery must pass through the top one. But it's the SOC differential that I am curious about. The 4-5% differential may be the best that the computer can do in balancing the batteries during discharge and charge. What have you seen on your set up? (BTW - I have done the 0 --> 100% cycle etc as recommended by the factory.) Thanks

Great video. I also am in Texas with Oncor as a provider. The video did not mention anything about pushing power to the grid for credits but I was wondering about the permits and any bureaucracy hassles that you had getting setup and hookuped with the Smart Home Panel.
@SShepherd5 күн бұрын
You need to go with a different solution such as a Tesla Powerwall if you want to be grid connected, which then costs significantly more to get installed. The Ecoflow products are meant to be tied directly to your home and never push power to the grid, just consume what you generate.

@williamsung3 ай бұрын
I believe you will need something like a tigo4 and a rapid shut off switch I am not sure how it communicates with the dpu. But should just shut off at the array/module level. Mainly for safety for roof installs I don’t see why it wouldn’t be able to communicate a shut down to the modules as long as the tigos or an optimizer are on each panel.

@@SulSpeed it does not increase the amount of amp available by battery power but it can support loads up to 100 but that would be through grid power. The 60 amps is also continuous load which very rarely ever happens. A lot of things would have to be on at the same time with large loads.

I find VERY HARD to believe that you spent $2500 for 27 solar panels (about 400W each, total 10,800W). That comes out to just $92.60/panel with ZERO installation, racking, rapid shutdown etc... which usually adds 2x-3x the cost of the panels. Also just the QCELL 400W panels brand new go for $200/panel. So maybe you bought them used and locally with no shipping and you have them lying on the ground rather than installed on the house roof or with ground racking (which can easily add $3000 just for the racking & hardware). So I think a more realistic cost estimate for 27x400=10,800W should be used instead of the totally unrealistic $2500.
@williamsung2 ай бұрын
I did actually luck out on 9 at 50 or 60 bucks. And the rest were in the 90-100 range I actually have 24 panels. Just kept searching fb marketplace daily and I’m in Texas a more solar friendly state and I spent 6 months accumulating them. (Got lucky the same type kept showing up) Plus cables some conduit clips critter guards etc. I do still have the cost to do the diysolar ground mount I haven’t included yet which will definitely be around 1200-2000 dollars of materials plus my labor time I didn’t include as that part of the project needs to be completed once I finish removing the tree that blew down during the Dallas storms. I still plan to finish that part up before I release one about just the solar part of this install ☺️
