I'm definitely a cat person, but I love my dog dearly. The Cat Distribution System is definitely real. I have two rescue kitties, and they are wonderful. Whatever I'm doing, they're right in the middle of it. Having cats means never again going to the bathroom alone.

This is why you never give an animal as a surprise gift. Unless the recipient is in a position to assume care and responsibility for the animal, the chances are high that the animal will be neglected, abused, and/or dumped. It’s why animal shelters and pounds are always overwhelmed with surrendered animals after Christmas, because people dump the unwanted pets when the novelty wears off or they dislike the work and expense required to care for them. It’s a major factor in why animal euthanasia rates are horrifyingly high. Animals aren’t fun gifts, they’re 10|20+ year commitments.

when the german shepard of my parents died, they were really in sorrow and it did hurt me to see them like how they were. The most risky thing i have done, bought a 12 weeks young germand sheppard puppy (black with white dot on his chest) and gave them to my parrents few months after their old friend died. My dad cried, he would not keep that little puppy because he wasnt over of the dead of his old dog. Still, after 2 or 3 hours that little one stole his heart, and situation is now, the dog is were my dad is... always together. Asco his name, is now 7 years old. Grumpy but gentle giant. Asco also did not replace Artie (the dog before him), he Just took the empty place of my parents heart.

what a beautiful game. the character of the old lady was very sweet. im 41 now and my parents are getting older, it made me feel quite emotional to watch this. i also mostly lived alone with cats during my life so i know what a difference it makes having a cat there when you get home. the developers did a great job on this game.

Played the game (DEMO) , and i love it. The gentle approach of the cat or the "i don´t trust you" cat is lovely done. See how the bond with Olive (The old lady in the game) become stronger is really well done. On the other hand the reality kicks also hard in. Olive, the old lady is kind to her new housemate, but it shows she is alone after her incident (play the game and you know why). It also shows she want to become her new feline housemate like the old one. The game shows clearly that that is not the case, because all cats (or other pets) have their own personality. Most of the people who adopts pets have the believe they are the same as the pet before, they are not and are unique in their own. Also, it shows how lonely older people can become when the house becomes empty, when the husband or wife departs and the kids get older and have their own life. The harse reality that the older people have to face is that they become older, weaker, and more important... lonely. They see their pets as friends, or soulmate. I know it´s still a game, funny and cruel at some points. I´ll give it a 9 out of 10, why not 10? because the game is not out yet, also the controls are buggy. Also, that lady olive is really well done, she´s lovely and kind. feel myself already guilty that i´ve have bitten her/scratched her on the first time. hope there comes more options.

I’m a cat lover, which is how I got here. I do like dogs, too, but I prefer cats. What makes me sad is Olive using her as a replacement. No pet can be replaced, any more than a person can. You gotta let yourself mourn, treasure the memories, and make new ones and new bonds.

I'm 49, been a cat person since around age 10. Lost a beloved female British shorthair at age 18 last august. Saw the vets upon collecting her ashes were asking for a home for a 22 year old cat. He's the most adorable lively cat ever soon to be 23. Not only women love cats, it's so stereotyped. Never had a cat bite or mess the house up, if you don't stress them and give them friendship they will reward you. Edit... Bread. Wtf. They don't eat bread and the cat is badly detailed and animated. Stray is a lot better

I grew up being a dog person, having a dog most of my life until I was in my late 20’s. Then I got a job where I was traveling a lot and gone for multiple days at a time. So I ended up getting a cat, and it was exactly what I needed. I still wish I had a dog, but my lifestyle no longer works for a dog. So I’ve had cats since 1999. Recently I unfortunately had to put my 22 year old cat to sleep as he went into kidney failure. Thankfully I have his 10 year old younger “brother “ to keep me company. 🐈‍⬛

I've been a dog lover for a long time, but we couldn't afford a dog. But the backdoor neighbors had a Britney Spaniel and I loved playing with him. When he and his humans moved, it was a heartache. Then mom brought home 2 kittens, brothers, from my grandma's house, and I found early on that I was allergic to cats, but I'll never forget the two. I love my Nori (black cat) and Tofu (white cat). Stay frosty!

More cat person than dog, even though we have a dog too. We have six cats which one belonged to my nan before she past away, who is also the sister of one of my cats. They all get on well with our dog as we've had him from 8 weeks old. I also volunteer foster for my local cat rescue and been doing it for over 9 years, so there are cases where it does break your heart, anger you etc but the reward is seeing the progress you've made with these kittens/cats are they grow to eventually getting their new home, one my fosters went to he's new home on Saturday and I have one currently and a pen waiting for the next.

Interesting. I was watching a video about cats the other day and wow, it is really mind blowing. Apparently a cat can sense everything, their whole body is basically covered in whiskers. They can casually jump off a building that is 40 floors. Because they use their body to kind of glide. They always swat at stuff because they are practicing fighting for their life their whole life. If I have to choose, it will always be doggo. I have two of those, but my front porch is also home base for a neighborhood free range cat. I call her Maggie, a black and white that comes when I call or when she hears me open the door. She knows she can count on me for food and scolds me when I'm slow. Maggie is a devastating mouser, quicker than a blink. She kept about 6 feet away for about 2 years. One day she walked right up to my feet and waited. I don't think she understood the how or why she felt the need. She accepted my touch without seeming to know if she liked it or not. Nowadays I cant set foot on my porch without her demanding a cuddle. Yesterday was a cold rain so she was content for me to hold her to my breast and rub her down to get her warm.

I have to say that I’m a dog person, ultimately. However, given my job (shift work, long hours at times), after my current dog crosses the rainbow bridge, the best option for me, when I’m ready, would be a cat. I’d prefer one that’s considered ‘less adoptable.’ Whether they have three legs or need time to feel comfortable, even if they’re never very cuddly, I don’t mind, because I understand that.

I love cats and dogs both. But if I could only have one, I'd choose dogs. They help protect the house and I can take mine places. Right now, I have one dog, a Golden. No cats. But I work at a shelter, so I get my cat fix there. Still, there's nothing more soothing than the sound of a cat's purr.
