Thank you for your Videos!!! I signed up today (#1,089) and trust the FOA. Although Europe is lagging a little behind here, the people in charge at FOA are extremely keen to offer all Fisker owners the best possible service. It is also a special feeling for me to be part of something unprecedented. Let's make the most of this great car!

I noticed, regretfully, that there was a service center in Arizona that is now no longer in this list. Bummer that now my most local service center is in California. But, perhaps I better consider myself lucky as Arizona to California is 300 miles away and some of the owners might be a lot further away than I am so I better not complain.

Yes, I know the feeling. The closest service center to me is also 300 miles away. We are working to fill in the gaps with independent shops. I have been researching my metro area and have submitted recommendations to FOA.

I just joined the Fisker Ocean Association. Yes there are now a $150/quarter due. Did I need to join just yet? Seems like my cloud and T-Mobile are working but that is because the Fisker Ocean Association and American Leasing bought the license to the cloud (as I understand that's what happened). So, even though I didn’t have to join now and pay, I think it’s fair that I contribute by joining as a stronger unity will be what's needed to keep us on the road. So I did. Fair is Fair right?

I just got my Ocean last week and I rushed to become a paid member. I thought it is very fair for us all to join to unite in support, and financially support the Ocean. So, yes, I joined in a hurry.

Can you give me the examples of what "cloud connected" will involve?
@MTNRanger5 күн бұрын
Zak Abitz gave this answer: “Cloud is the Fisker server. It controls all the things that were going to be subscriptions such as California mode, Hollywood mode, heated seats, and software updates. Fisker OG’s subscription model is no longer a thing but those things still require a handshake to the cloud to continue working. Your VIN isn’t in the cloud system, you lose connection and can’t use those features or get updates.” The cloud also affects the FAST device. It's not certain to me yet how repairs that need FAST will be done to car's without the cloud.

After paying for the one year membership, have you noticed a change in the app or it's still the same?
@MTNRanger5 күн бұрын
Membership is just starting in Jan 2025. There is going to be a new app for Android and iOS in 2025. The old app by Fisker will be discontinued.

Would you agree that it makes sense to hold off joining for those of us awaiting outcome of the Hagens Berman arbitration case? Especially for those of us who are financially struggling as it is? We can choose to join at any time correct? As in January/February?
@MTNRanger6 күн бұрын
That is a tricky situation and I totally understand that is a touch decision. Since I didn't have a Chase loan and paid cash, I'm not involved. I would suggest waiting to see the results of the arbitration. Yes, you can join at any time. The only thing lost is the discount if you pay for the annual option after December 15th.

I would say, purchase the quarterly subscription. Either way it goes it maintains your service and if Chase buy back (unlikely given recent news) then you will continue to have a cloud connected vehicle.

@christwiner92315 күн бұрын
@@jeffreymills4307 At the moment its mothership push and connectivity. If patches or upgrades become available then cloud will allow those to be pushed. Additionally I am unsure if cloud connectivity is required for FAST tools to grab info from vehicle if necessary. Not much to go on sorry.

Hi Matt, do you think it's worth for me to pay/join if I live in EU and using US version of the FO? ( Don't want to pay in advance just to find out that t-mobile connection is not working or android auto support will not get to my car etc...) Thanks
@MTNRanger6 күн бұрын
There's no guarantee for the Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, but I think it's a major incentive for future updates. I'm pretty sure the T-mobile is a done deal and is part of the membership. While the EU is lagging now, work is being done to get parts, service, and software updates up soon. I understand that it is frustrating, but there is no "US version" of the FOA, it's a global organization. If you can contribute, I would, even for just one quarter.

Thank you for the update but I for one am on the fence regarding membership. The pitch FOA gives to join is rather vague and "on the come". It appears to be a group of well intentioned people but in general it seems like a work in progress . I have sent 2 emails over the past 3 months or so and never received responses. The prepaid key fobs have not yet arrived in a timely fashion and the 2 recall issues seem unresolved. I guess I'm in show me mode regarding what exactly $550 gets me.
@Zakabitz6 күн бұрын
The key fobs were very clear that it would take 4-6 weeks for delivery after the orders closed. The 2 recalls not being completed isn't on the FOA and lies solely with the Fisker Trustee that is dragging it's feet and not helping. The FOA is actively working and installing 2.2 which addresses one of the recalls. The other two are in process but again, the trustee is making it difficult. If you don't want to pay, you don't have to but your car will lose server connection and 4G connection. So you will be stuck using your phone for your music apps after January 1st. Your call.
@redstaper24146 күн бұрын
@@Zakabitz Regarding the key fobs...on August 28 FOA update email.... "delivery is estimated at 5-6 weeks from actual purchase date which should take place in mid September". My point is you can't get a answer even when one enquires via email. The can keeps getting kicked down the road. That's OK when there's no fee associated. But now it's a fee of $550. Regarding your point that the trustee is making life difficult for the FOA and the 2 physical recalls....how am I to know that?
@rmorales10296 күн бұрын
@@redstaper2414FOA has calls every Sunday where a lot of great info is shared, including the key fob order, who is doing what w/Fisker cars, etc. I know I have seen the call schedule on FOA website or the emails that FOA sends out.
@MTNRanger6 күн бұрын
Of course it's a work in progress. But as mentioned by the other responses, the key fobs/cards are coming. They had to wait until 3000 orders were completed before the manufacturing/shipping could occur. Things take time. Recalls are dependent on the parts arriving and shops/techs that can install it. I haven't done the recalls yet, but they are proceeding as we speak. As far as not receiving responses, have you tried contacting anyone on the FOA community website? I know there have been issues since one of the volunteers left that was managing service requests.

Disappointed that supporters that donated already don't get any appreciation, perks or discount. Furthermore, as a European I'll give it a pass. No benefits at all yet.
@dakotapahel-short31926 күн бұрын
i mean i get it but its hard to give out too many perks when they desperately still need money. the money that was already donated was necessary for the legal battle and we still have more donations to cover that cost alone. you could say the perk was that the FOA got access to the software we need to keep the cars running. thank you for donating. europe is in a much rougher spot thanks to fisker and the new owners of fisker ip after bankruptcy. they clearly only cared about american customers... not that they cared much about them either. but the foa has been working to get that sorted out. its just going to take longer. hope it gets figured out for yall soon!
@Zakabitz6 күн бұрын
FOA is predominantly a North American thing. They are trying their best to help out in Europe but it sounds like the European side of things doesn't have nearly the back bone as the NA does. The servers are different. The OS is different. The service centers are different. The current company or whatever you want to call it that "owns" Fisker now is different and not really working with the FOA the way the NA version is. Maybe volunteer your services in the European side of it all and see if you can help get it as strong as the NA FOA is. This isn't an organization that was created by Fisker or some company. It started and still is ran by volunteers that are owners. They are doing what they can.
@MTNRanger6 күн бұрын
As others have said, there really is no other perks that can be given at this point. The donations for 2024 can be considered a separate thing from 2025. I have donated three times in 2024 and don't have any issues with the new membership. As far as Europe goes, it's the sad truth that Fisker Inc/Heights concentrated on North America. Hopefully FOA will rectify the situation. It's going to take time. Watching any of the Twitch video updates every two weeks gives me the impression that they are working hard to get things rolling. Success for all owners needs to come from membership of as many people as possible.
