Just a note on the future software Ocean situation, there is work been done to move forward right now by FOA, the first is likely post Fisker update is Android Auto and Apple Car integrations, the "self drive package" is not laying dead in developing phase yet. I would be patient as you always had been, the FOA will get the Ocean parts from Austria soon. I will give a little more info on the Fisker Software, it's coming from a real civil engineer (academic background) from Denmark who owns a Fisker Ocean, and been "looking deeply" in his car.

NIce comparison. As an owner of both a Tesla and an Ocean, I agree. There are some annoying aspects of Autopilot when lane markings are not on the road. Honestly, I don't use it except on long trips. If the Ocean had adaptive cruise control, I would be happy enough. But, yes the software is the big difference and Tesla has had a decade to refine the software. I have seen a huge difference from when I got the car 6.5 years ago. As far as other EVs to check out. Look at the upcoming Cadillac Optiq, I think that is the closest to the Ocean. Also deals on the Chevy Equinox EV are pretty amazing right now.

As an Ocean driver where the car is the main car in the family I totaly agree that you should have to observe the market, because you don't know what happens. I will list & comment same more options: Genesis GV60 - sister model of EV6 with better design & quality and better (higher) prices. The "only" thing negative is the size of the luggage space with 432l, too small for me. Porsche Macan & Audi Q6 E-Tron Sportback great cars, but 17-30K€ higher than the Ocean (old prices as of February ;-). XPeng G6 good car with nice features and a very good price less 55K€. I fear that the only stores in US will be in NY, LA and maybe Miami, in Germany they have also only a few (but more than Fisker in February ;-). But built in China. Cupra Tavascan, the model I put away / it comes too late as alternative to the Ocean. But as i sit in same weeks ago I was disappointed of the quality of the materials used for an 60-70K car. The design I do like, but also manufactured in China. The Ford Explorer is a little bit too smal in size (AWD I do not know). And than the VW ID.7 tourer which is not an SUV, but plenty of space, very economical and the price is only a few K over the Ocean. So you see that in every soup is a least one hair, sometimes a bundle ;-( . What I would run after is a Macan with the blue colour of the Q6 or the orange of the G6, California Mode or at minimun total sky roof with an opening option, the display of the Tesla and a price of 70-75K€. But this will not happen in this world...

15:15 The model 3 refresh has a rear screen which gives passengers the ability to control climate and whatnot. I'm aware this is about the Model Y (which does not have it) but my point is that I believe the model Y will be getting refreshed in the next year or so. While we don't have all of the details yet, I'd imagine that most/all of the model 3 refresh features will be implemented into the new model Y (but the rear screen could make the car more appealing to kids in the back).

You need to repaint your basement a different color if you are changing brands, lol. You might want to wait for the Juniper Model Y as it looks much better inside despite it being minimal. Another consideration is LUCID Gravity as it offers AWD, is super-efficient, and not bland inside at all.

True story. We had a bunch of paint left over from painting the house when we built it. We mixed all the colors together in five gallon buckets and that was the color 😆.

I totally agree with your observations. I too have an ocean and a Tesla model 3. Teslas drive very rough and noisy. But yes I miss the autopilot and the lane centering. I use that as my 3rd eye. Works well when it is raining or driving at night in a rain storm. I too have thoughts of selling my ocean.. but still probably need to pay some one to take it. That being said.. will probably continue driving it till it depreciates to its current value. Good luck.

@@docsilng New Model 3 has improved suspension and noise abatement. I have a 2024 Model Y and those are my only complaints but otherwise it’s a fantastic vehicle. I’ll be looking at the Juniper Model Y with some jealousy.

Model y owner here… i agree the exterior is not my favourite although we got the performance model to overcome some of this and is crazy fast, the interior is minimalist but has grown on me. But the overall ownership has been great so far. Driving it is fun and great, reliable, home charging is flawless and inexpensive, supercharger network is incredible, software updates seemless etc. biggest complaints are Elons a nut and his politics are shit but hey in the bright side I drive the preferred car of the Fuhrer.

Model Y is perfect, except is has a lame optical parking sensor beta instead of reliable ultrasonic sensors. And it still doesn't have properly working rain sensor for the wipers. And it has no 360° parking view cameras. Also no cockpit display and no head-up display. Oh, and no Android Auto or Apple Carplay. Also no Apple CarKey support so you can't use the Watch as key. Also no 120V/240V outlets, neither in the car nor outside (V2L). And indicator stalks were removed to cut cost (big problem in Europe, probably not such a big problem in the US) and the navigation can't even plan a route with chargers from outside the Tesla network (important in Europe, probably less important in the US). You do get occasional phantom breaking though (helps to keep the brake calipers rust-free). And efficiency is good. I'd much prefer an EV6. It's not perfect either but it's really nice and not so extremely barebone. Also consider the sibling of the EV6, the Genesis GV60 might be cheap on the used market in the US - i like the GV60 because it's a bit higher and shorter which is nice for parking in crowded cities.

I own both model y long range and Ocean and split my driving. Sounds like you may have had the Tesla in chill mode. On paper they are about same 0-60 but Tesla Y feels much faster and steering/braking is 100x better. Fisker looks better and has sunroof which is a huge plus. Fisker has more back seat space but Tesla has more cargo space and interior cubbies. Ocean has more range but Tesla is easier when faster to charge. I use the FSD on the Y and it’s insane good and keeps getting better. I’m really hoping we get to replace TomTom digital cockpit with android automotive. I plan to sell one of the cars but like them both for different reasons.

Model y is considered an SUV? I have test driven an ID4 and it wasn't bad. Roomy and comfortable. EV9? Volvo? Also, Tesla has been around for awhile and thus should have smooth software. It seems most other companies (not Chinese) are a step behind because they focused on the driving and the car itself. Musk has said before he sees Tesla more as a software company than a car company.
@thomaskroyer346814 күн бұрын
You still not got the 2.0 Ocean software update?, if you have not heard it yet, but in Austria there is 4000 un-assemble Fisker Ocean 's, so a lot of spare parts is coming, as soon the "smoke from the fire sale" is over (bankruptcy). In early 2026 you get the KIA ev3, just mention it.

dont count your chickens on this H-B case. also you do have to compare performance model y because of the price points
@Ocean1_FSR13 күн бұрын
True, although I did state that in the video. Also, there are no price points to compare anymore as the Ocean is no more. As far as the court case, I also stated that as well. If that falls thru, then we will simply drive the ocean till we have a problem we can't solve. Thanks 👍

Firstly, Musk…..no way. Now that he has an opportunity to influence EV’s in the next administration I’m just not getting positive vibes that this will happen. Secondly, the future of the Ocean (software updates, maintenance, etc) is likely in much better shape then even when they first started delivering vehicles a year and a half ago. Thirdly, I would suggest looking at the Nissan Ariya.

I owned an Ocean One from December 9th, 2023 until October 4, 2024. It was the worst experience I’ve ever experienced in my my 66 years on the planet 🌎. After much consideration we replaced it with a Kia EV 9, I’ve never been more impressed with a vehicle…, the Kia EV 9 with the GT line trim. Everything works, it has many more features than the Fisker and it even has a 3rd row, it drives better than the Ocean and feels much more comfortable as well as being way more solidly built. It is the absolutely perfect. We also looked at the EV 6, but after driving the EV 9 we were definitely sold! Just Sayin, -Henry 🎉

I understand. I understand 100%. I think anyone that had any real issues with the Ocean would feel the same way. While I haven't had any real issues mechanically, just the fact that it took over 5 months to get my title to get my registration shows how incompetent Fisker was being run. Sorry about your experience and hope you continue to enjoy the EV9. Every Ocean is basically one repair away from becoming a brick.

Xpeng G9 is a much better car than the ocean. Try one of those. I have an Ocean aswell as my brother, but our dad has a G9. It charges faster, has more power and drives just as well. It is also bigger than the FO.
@RoxyJill13 күн бұрын
We don’t have Xpeng in America so that’s not an option for him. But the model X which is offered in America is a good rival of the G9
@RoxyJill13 күн бұрын
The model X would be more comparable to the Ocean. You should try that. And the 5 seater gets the tax credit. The model X is not boring inside and has a cool front cockpit. There are plenty after market assesories that can make it really fun. Ambient lighting that you can find for about $200, puddle lights, yoke steering wheel if desired, etc. The power and ride quality if much better than the current model y due to its air suspension. The interior space is bigger too. I guarantee you, if you test drive the X, you will like it a lot!
