I don't understand the Chase bit. Ive read the thread on Reddit and it seems like a far fetched idea. What bugs me is I am paying for features I never got ( winter package ). I wonder if I have any options with that. If I had a way out I would totally take it. I'd even take a Model Y at this point. I got in before all the major red flags were out there ( or at least to me ). I liked what I saw and honestly I still like the car, but not enough to deal with the parts shortage, no software updates, etc.

I would call Chase if you have a loan with them. They are compiling data before taking action, based on reports from owners

The major red flags were all raised before ordinary customers got their car. 1. Fake SOP. 2. Homologation not done in time for SOP. 3. Feature slashes while still wanting full payment. 4. Financials looked crap at Q4 '22 earnings call with no credible explaination of how they were going to handle that (Geetas "POSITIVE EBIDA" and "NO DILLUTIVE CAPITAL" was the real wake up call that they were dilusional) 5. Little to no rigging of delivery and service functions before they started delivering to customer

Thank you Adam! You are totally clear-eyed on this mess that is Fisker. The day that they announced the company was the day I thought "uh oh, here we go again!" The Tramonto, the Karma, the Rocket, the Force 1, and now the Ocean - these are all prior Fisker creations where he pitched a snazzy designs to overly trusting investors/customers. In each venture, investors/customers were left holding the bag while Fisker walked away with money. The older attempts were puny compared to the SPAC flex Henrik achieved with Fisker Inc. - he was laughing all the way to the bank!

I wrote the California Attorney General about Fisker like five years ago already… But of course what Fisker did was illegal, there was never even the teensiest chance of making their projected production and sales numbers as Fisker lacked the capital to order the parts and hire the people to get the cars delivered and so on. While Henrik was “projecting” 42,000 produced, I was predicting 10,000, I missed by 117 cars. Did I know more about the company than the CEO knew? No, Henrik was lying to pump the stock. The new models they said were going to come super soon despite not having the capital, a battery cell supplier, a manufacturing partner, or anything they would need, those were just another stock pump. Telling huge lies as CEO of a publicly traded company is ILLEGAL.

Adam, Back in 1985 I purchased a Buick Grand National. Its uniqueness of being (high performance and limited production drew me in. About two moths after I got the car I was involved in an odd collision with a vehicle that backed into me, dating the bumper and grill. I quickly learned from the body shop that Grand National parts did not exist and that the standard Buick Regal parts would be painted to closely match the black requirements of the Grand National. Luckily the steel body panels and glass were standard Regal components and easily available. The problem/frustration for me was that the NewEngland sanded roadways quickly pitted the black paint that had been applied over chrome pieces. Nowadays the 1986 Buick Grand National can be sold for close to twice the original cost when new. Unless the bank offers to take-back the FOO, I'll be holding onto it for the forseeable future. Maybe, Just MAYBE, the Fisker Ocean will be worth more as a limited edition collectible EV.

The rarity and notoriety of the Ocean will certainly come to fruition in the future. These cars will be extremely costly to keep running. They will be junked, wrecked, abandoned, sold for parts, etc. and the value won’t ever go too low if the high voltage battery is working. That said, it’s the feeling I get when I think about that I don’t like. If you don’t get that feeling, drive it a mile a week, and keep it charged. You’ll have something to show off in 20 years. P.S. The GNX is my dad’s dream car.

Hey Adam! Thanks so much for the suggestion on calling Chase auto finance which is where my loan currently resides. They helped open a case with me on potentially buying back the Fisker ocean and provided steps to submit a formal complaint to the state of Utah. It's sad that it had to come to this point as I feel the same way you do where at first it was all exciting but now out of nowhere stuff has come crashing down and the vehicle is no longer a joy to have.

as a FOO owner, this entire situation has been an incredibly frustrating experience and has ruined my confidence with any startup and EV. No support from Fisker with a bricked car, arbitration is a nightmare, waiting on lemon law is even more painful, attempting to source parts, I might as well jump from my 6th story office window or reach the Pope. I get that there are owners who "claim" they have no problem with the car, I know that is a lie with the keyfob alone. They may not consider it significant, but it is a problem. The lack of support exacerbates the situation, and the masking of the problems and the blatant illegal act of not providing service records with each mobile visit has made it difficult for consumers to prove their cases. The note holder needs to allow Fisker to tell the damn truth or the NTHSA needs to recall the cars and figure out how to make the consumers whole. Chase/Fisker Finance has not been helpful honestly especially if they know you have filed arbitration. The ownership has been taxing both emotionally and financially. Ready to take this to the Whitehouse and demand bigger consumer protections and stricter financial rules for automakers.

Sure there was mismanagement, greed, and chaos. But I would assume that a start-up automaker needs to have cash reserves for at least 2-3 years to be able to produce and sell at a loss. I don't think Fisker ever had that kind of dollar cushion. So it was doomed to run out of money before making a profit. Am I incorrect?

Thanks Adam as always. My endgame is complete. I've followed you by realizing the incredible loss and traded in on an EV9 that just WORKS. It has been such a relief to not worry over parts, OTAs, service or if it becomes uninsurable. You're mostly right about us FOO(ls) owners wanting something cool instead of the Elon egg, and to not put money in Elon's ego or campaigns of hate. It was also supposed to be a vote for the most sustainable car ever. That had credibility when built at Magna's net zero plant, but it should have been evident to me when they flew over a planeful of Ocean Ones to California to start delivering them. I cringed when I saw that video, and should have known. The Henrik and Geeta show has tarnished EVs, startups, and impoverished suppliers, employees and retail investors who wanted to believe. There's a special place in Hell for them... and not Hell, Norway.

It was a cool car, but it shows that with startups it really doesn't matter how good the product is (and this could have been good if they had taken the time to really build it properly and properly test it), if the company is badly managed and if the CEO effectively signs away the future of the company if there are any rough patches.

Based on the letter and the "law enforcement" aspect of the AG's office, they're not able to help if California law was not broken. You'll have to take it to the federal level like Trevor Milton, Sam Bankman, and Liz Holmes.

Had I known that the only way to get real info is thru guys like you and Brian G. and the Facebook world, I would still be driving my 2016 Buick Envision which had everything that this car is supposed to, except that it worked. Buying my first (and last EV) was part of my desire to help the environment and young people who will inherit this earth in a much more screwed up state than I found it 78 years ago. @@hamwicbi1265 I think "last EV" is a reference to age. 78 is beyond when we took the keys from mom. I bought my truck when I was in my 30s, with plans to replace it when it cost more to run than the risk of driving. However, now in my 60s and my life expectancy around 68, it may have been my last vehicle since it is still running strong with just periodic oil changes, grease (u-joints), and a MAF sensor every decade or so.

The problem with ALL electric car FanBoys, is that they will never say one word about the mishaps of said car. Like Never. I always go to the complaint chat rooms to hear what the real complaints are. A car rusts right out of the box? No big deal, its iron filing from train wheels. First time I heard that, like in all my life. Cant go thru a car wash,? Well of course not, why do you ask? TRAITOR !!! Toyota spent hundreds of millions on just the Rubber compounds in their cars, so they would work for YEARS, from Antartica, to the Jungles, to Egyptians Deserts, to Cold Siberia, to working daily in north alaska for YEARs. How much R+D has gone into this CYber Golfcart for 100 Grand? Two weeks of ownership and it is falling apart, failing, does not work, windshield cracking, tire covers, eating into the tires, the list goes on and on. A CAR is not a smartphone. You Sir are a credit to your Fisker. You need to be CEO of a Fisker COmmunity for parts, if they exist, advice to others on all aspects of your car. I was taught 5 decades ago in Auto Engineering- Never buy a car or vehicle that cannot be serviced locally or parts obtained easily. I hate all electric cars but the Fisker is a decent design with more R+D work. My Respect, RH DSD
