More fuel for the West Midlands, normally oil is the staple traffic on this route but over the last few weeks coal has returned in sizeable quantities. Currently there's a steady programme of coal from Immingham Bulk to Ratcliffe and Rugeley. Here 66597 is seen passing Fiskerton Junction box at 1540 on 6M51 the 1145 Immingham Dock - Rugeley Power Station. Thursday 26th July 2012. Fiskerton Junction is located between Newark and Nottingham. The boxes days are numbered and is due to be abolished in 2015.
The box is a real step back in time, wheel worked gates, no track circuits and set in a lovely part of Nottinghamshire.
I always struggle to believe I get paid for this :)
