From a time Arc Systems perfected their classic 2d style, improving a little bit over GGXX sprites. They are and were always a dedicated team that pushed technical boundaries and use every opportunity to keep going foward... not only their main brands. Just like nowadays their work on graphics of DBFZ, GBFV and DFD is equally excellent and on par with GGST. They never changed that dedication.

For those wondering why Rei's throw has him touching the character's chests and ripping their clothes, it's a reference to the manga. He was going around looking for a man with seven scars on his chest because he was the one who kidnapped his sister Airi (it was Jagi, by the way) and thus he would check the chest of every many he came across. The game actually has a bit of fun with the characters he wouldn't need to check in the first place: - Jagi already has his chest exposed so Rei confirms that it's him. - Heart actually gets wounded by Rei's Nanto Suichoken as a reference to how only Nanto techniques can harm his body. - Mamiya... well, it's just to show her cleavage for fanservice, although it is a reference to how Rei shredded her clothes to expose her as a woman.

Never seen a original ps2 game in my country, stuff was pirated a lot, but other regions games i don't remember if they sold here, it was mostly GTA VC/SA and FIFA that people played here.
