Sadly, not. Theres a plug and play option announced, but that was years ago, from the creator of Xstation. You can find the video on X somewhere.

with some games you wont get sound or may stop at the title screen. you need to use daemon tools lite to mount and convert using image burn to create a 2 files then use cue2cu2 after that you will get sound like in destruction derby and get rayman to run

Thank you, im also glad that i bought it for just 15usd from an old lady who hardly watched anything on it. The thing has barely any watch time. I don't know if its exactly better: you can't use official updates from the devs, but theres a Russian site where you can download unofficial FW updates from.

It's actually a little bit faster than CD-Rom, because although the transfer speed is the same as CD-rom, there are no seek times with ODEs. There are videos on youtube comparing Spyro loading times from disc and PSIO, and the PSIO wins by a few seconds. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p6fQp5ead8qSgq8

Yes, just from Aliexpress. Just a reminder that it is a clone, so you can't update it with newer firmware, unless you use third party firmware.

I have the link somewhere.. but if you Google something like 'psio Russian firmware' you end up on a Russian text based forum. You can use Google Translate to read all the instructions. It's pretty simple as far as I read.

I’ve bought an original PSIO from the true creator (CYBERDYNE) of this product, not a cheap Chinese clone, since I support every creator of mods out there. It was rather unsettling that I had to pay double the price. But at least I can update the firmware 👍🏻

O yea, to each it's own. Original psio gets you official FW updates, but the community made that Russian FW available which solves most of the problems (some games not working)

Yeah. TBH, I always support the original creators/modders of new tech, since it’s their IP in the first place. That’s the best thing to do, really. Not just buying cheap Chinese clones and then rant about how things don’t work (not pointing my finger at you, just so you know 👍🏻). If the creator is an @$$, well, then you are out of luck, I presume.

I'm pleased as punch the firmware update at long last finally came out...but for whatever reason the second disc (well the iso/rom or whatever or it) of Lunar Silver Star still won't work and I tried a few different ones...what am I doing wrong?

Not all PS1 consoles are compatible with the Xstation. Plus the mod requires lifting very tiny chip pins and you lose your optical drive. I have installed both mods in the past. PSIO is much easier to install.

And you got that info from where exactly? There is no plug and play option for the PS1 console. Xstation needs you to solder as well and you lose your optical drive. Theres the matter of having the correct firmware and the correct ISO files to get the game running. I have 207 games on here and only a handful don't work.

I think you misunderstood me? I'm thanking YOU for the "information"... Because of YOU I found out that I have to solder wires and all that stuff if I wanted to get one. You understand?? And you also said that some games doesn't respond to any input. You were very helpful with the "info" . Thanks to you I'm not going to bother chasing the PSIO.
