You have to switch banks. This is a limitation of the console, you can't have one massive bank of saves. There is something called GameID that can automatically detect the game and switch to it's specific bank for you tho. You need a specific firmware for the Bitfunx cards tho. Or an ODE or other type of mod that supports GameID.

Thank you! Theres a Github page out there, you can Google it to find the software. It's a regular memorycard in that regard, so you could use it on a PS2. Don't know if the bypass software is written to play burnt DVDs for the PS2 though.

Nope you need to make a choice. If you want to play backups without a modchip, you can use this memorycard, but it will be an can only used as a bypass method. You can still buy a second one though and use that one with the original functionality.

Actually, I have one and I have two Playstations without a chip, a scph-101 and a scph-7501 and I can say that you CAN use the memory card for FreePSXBoot and saving games as well but it gets tricky. You need to put the exploit in the root of the SD card as 0.mcr. 1,2, 3, and any other .mcr files are going to be your memcards for game saves. Now, you turn on the Playstation without a disk and enter the exploit from the PS Bios memcard manager. Once there, you go to the memory card manager that FreePSXBoot includes. You will see that it reads the memory card as corrupted data. Don't delete anything, just use the dpad combo Up + start + select to change to the memcard where you have your saves or where you will save your games. Once you know that you selected the correct memcard, go back, press "boot cd" and that's it. As I told you, it is possible, but it is a pain, so you better buy a cheap chinese memcard and install FreePSXBoot on it for slot 2 so you don't need to worry about it. In that case, just use the PSXmemcard to test whether the version of the exploit you downloaded is the correct one or not and then use it to install the exploit on your slot 2.

Hello I got one and when I opened it up a little white switch for that and when I plug it in nothing happens I have formatted the SD card FAT32 tried it both as MBR and GTP and have placed 0.mcr file, I get new red light turning on when I turn on my PlayStation, question on a working unit does a light turn on if you insert it without sd card

I don't have a white switch? Also, try other formats instead of FAT32.

@ It was the reboot switch, there is a tiny hole you push a pin in it so it pops up on your computer, anyway I fixed the switch update the F/W for use with my psio and works now

No. The MC functions - with the alternate firmware - as software to bypass the checks on original discs.

I tried doing the instructions on the github for the freeboot and it doesn't seem to work properly. Not exactly sure what the problem is, I tried contacting BitfunX as well as they said to ask them for support but it's been about 2 weeks now and again, nothing.

If you install the software for burnt cds, can you still swap the micro sd and use it as a normal memory card?

As far as I read, you can't. It writes to the RPI2020 board.

Hi, sounds like a memorycard issue. Do you have it formatted at FAT32? Or, the SD card might be faulty.

@@miguelfedericohernandezzap5406 I never use the SD card it came with (i never use the supplied SD cards with products) i simply copy over the content to a new SD card that i already own each time. I would suggest getting another SD card, but you could try just copying over the content to your HDD, format the card and place the content back.

Yes. But you need to rewrite the software on the card with software on a Github page. After that, it become a bypass module and not a memorycard anymore.

I havent transformed the memory card into a bootable device, so I'm not a 100% sure. The github states that its possible to read burned discs as it overrides the boot sequence (some how) as it's always been possible to play games from another region by modchipping, im guessing it would do the same with the memory card.

Not exactly, it's just a memory card with a bigger expansion possibility. However, it can be used to read burned CDRs with the right software code, uploaded to the SD card.
