If there was ever a silver lining dividing deathcore and metacore genres, these guys have firmly taken the throne right inside that lining.

No, theres plenty of bands that actually border between metalcore and deathcore haha. Clean singing has nothing to do with it, these dudes riffs are strictly metalcore. Bands like Within the Ruins for example actually drift between both genres, some Emmure stuff, theres quite a few other bands but I cant really think of examples rn lmao

Fit For A King-Tower Of Pain Lyrics: Will I rise from the ashes we create Will I fall into oblivion When I look up to this tower with a soul that's ripped apart I see my death before me and the path is cold and dark I feel the flames surrounding my heart Watching my soul being torn apart Twenty six years I've been digging my grave Climbing the tower of pain Fear shouldn't be deciding my fate My agony shouldn't be holding this weight When my heart no longer beats what will I say Will I rise from the ashes we create Will I fall into oblivion When I look up to this tower with a soul that's ripped apart I see my death before me and the path is cold and dark I hear the whisper of death in my ear Hell is safe for a thousands of years Twenty six years being told I'm a slave Trading desire away Fear shouldn't be deciding my fate My agony shouldn't be holding this weight When my heart no longer beats what will I say Will I rise from the ashes we create Will I fall into oblivion When I look up to this tower with a soul that's ripped apart I see my death before me and the path is cold and dark Hell shouldn't draw me closer to Heaven Death shouldn't pull me closer to faith Hell shouldn't draw me closer to Heaven Death shouldn't pull me closer to faith I will climb the tower of pain Blegh! To the guys in Fit for a King: Thank you all for this masterpiece of an album. - Every song gets my blood pumping. - Every song almost literally parallels my life/thought process in some way.** **Particularly this song. Lately, I've been getting closer and closer to a breaking point again. In October 2016, at age 26, my brother took his own life. It wasn't his first attempt; we've both attempted suicide before. We shared a birthday, 3 years apart. Our birthday this year would result in his age turning 29; I'll be 26. In a way, your music makes this nightmare of an existence feel less painful. It pains me every day, but somehow, this song makes me feel a little closer to my brother. For that, and every other struggle I face that you've put perfectly into words, I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Rock on boys. R.I.P. Aaron Taylor Mason 01/1991 - 10/2016

3:02 - 3:46 great build up to a lackluster djent breakdown and subsequent formulaic petering out. They could have laid down a sick ass solo on top of that to really elevate the song and turn it into something special. Overall 4.5 out of 10. I hope they utilize the song space to separate themselves from all of the other bands out there doing the same shit.

@jasonlovesmusicreacting8826 жыл бұрын
Monica LW I think the guy secretly wants you to give some metalcore bands a try lol he's just being harsh about it. Here, I'll help. Phinehas, Like Moths To Flames, Silent Planet, Counterparts, War Of Ages, and Northlane. They're pretty much all buds too lol.
@macion94816 жыл бұрын
Jason LovesABR Thanks for the recommendations and for being respectful lol. I've wanted to check out Silent Planet for a while actually. The ironic thing about the guy calling me a poser is that I kind of skipped over metalcore and am in the process of diving into death metal lol so idk what makes me a "poser"
@jasonlovesmusicreacting8826 жыл бұрын
Monica LW Idk, I don't really keep up with reviewers anymore but I do watch this new guy Ryan Panny and he always makes fun of the way metalcore has this screamed verse, sung chorus format but it's like you enjoy trap music and really boring pop and butt rock music? Lol but there is nothing wrong with BB. They have their typical formula they've stuck to as well and it works for them. Silent Planet is a poetic journey. I wish more critics would stfu about metalcore sounding trendy when bands like them and Counterparts exist.
