Man I feel bad for this man. Bought a put it back to stock EVO X. 70k mileage for $18,500. I bought mine for 20k at 82k mileage and it’s completely stock beside 3 port, full exhaust and a tuned. I have zero issue beside the AYC pump, but it was fixed through Mitsubishi. Car is at 92k and running smooth still.

He has a newer less milage car than you? Why feel bad for him lol. An ayc pump isnt huge. He payed 18k for a 70k mile evo. You payed 20k for an 80k plus evo lol.

@@jesusangeles152 I feel bad is because the fact that his is stock and breaking down like crazy. He only get to drive it for only a month while it is down for 6 months. Vs mine I've been driving it for soon to be 2 years and no issue. That's when you know his Evo might be one of those Evo that has been abused and put it back to stock at some point. Most stock Evo that isn't put back last long as long there are no full abuse everyday.

Damn I wish he interviewed me, I have way more reasons why I traded in my STi to get an EVO, owned both for over a year and I have some reasons. This dude only drove his for a month. Plus I didn't want the 8 or 9, just way too old and molested, I would not even daily drive those based on the rarity anymore. The x you can still daily drive, plus the 4g63, while you can make big power due to their block, they are not faster in stock form and require at least cams to get to the 400whp range. I dont drive my X to make 1000 so I prefer it 10x more than the 8/9.

felix-antoine sigouin my man the engine in the sti is a piece of shit, I’m sorry it is a dinosaur that should have been extinct, that’s the main reason. The engine in the STi blows up too easily. The evo engines are a lot more reliable and require less maintenance and have forged pistons and can handle more power safely. Now the EVO is not perfect, it feels like a race car with 4 doors, I get it but it is way better from my experiences and less of headache in terms of reliability for some extra ponies. I owned both for a year and daily drove them and I never want a subie again, unless they change the engine over then I’ll consider. Ring land failure is a thing.

Bought my Evo X brand new 6 years ago, 45k miles, full bolt on, dyno, tune, and stage 2 clutch... and never had an issue with master cylinder.... not sure about anyone else.... but when I open the engine and go big power I plan to upgrade the master cylinder anyways.

I intend to buy an Evo X with a manual transmission. My reason is that the car company will build nothing like it in the future. Odds are, it will be a hybrid with automatic. That would make the car less hardcore, and I want to tame a wild beast. I have a Lancer Ralliart now because I couldn't afford a X SE or X MR, and I wanted the DCTF because of my long boring commutes to work. My car has been incredibly reliable, so I don't worry about spending too much in repairs. I sometimes compare the end of the Evo production to the end of the Nissan 300ZXTT. The 350Z just wasn't the same as the TT.
