It’s not a 35 “series” sidewall and just because they are both 35 does not mean they are the same front and back. It’s the aspect ratio. It’s 35% of the tire width. The side wall is 35% of 245mm up front and 35% of 255mm in the rear. That’s 3.7” of sidewall in the rear and 3.57” up front.

When he said 35 series to the thickness of the tire side walls, I immediately scrolled down to find comments about it lol. It’s scary just how many people out there can work on your suspension wheels and tires when they have zero knowledge on basics. Reminded me again of not trusting most shops out there lol. This number literally changes how the car feel and drives. 🤦‍♂️

😳 wow people being pedantic because he said 35 “series” sidewall. 😆 You guys didn’t know that when he said “35 series sidewall” (never heard the sidewall part before) he is referring to the aspect ratio? When people say they are running a 30 series, 40 or 45 etc series tire know that they referring to the aspect ratio. No one I know says “I am running tires with an aspect ratio of 45”…..they may say I running 45 series or 35 series some may elaborate saying that it may be square or staggered setup. Or they say 18s 225-45 front and 245-45 on the back. When people ask me about my wheels I may say those are 18s, with 45 series tires in a staggered setup. If I don’t elaborate: Car guys WILL ask whats on the front vs back. I will say 225 front and 245 rear. We know the aspect ratio is 45% of the width to give the sidewall height in mm. Some just guess the width without asking because they been in the game a long time. It says a lot about textbook knowledge vs real world lingo. Real car guys know exactly what he saying, including when he said same profile. Do I need to explain that as well?

@@sizzlacalunji No, everyone knew what he was referring to, but it’s wrong. That’s why it was pointed out. Otherwise we would have said “what is he talking about.” It’s not a series. “Series” implies that it’s the same from Tire to tire. Sure the “ratio” might be the same as a percentage, but actual measurement could be dramatically different. If you’re educating people or guiding people on a topic, you should try to be accurate. So again, it’s not that no one knew what he was talking about. Real world lingo 😂 I think everyone commenting would know what you are talking about describing your tires by series-they might just walk away rolling their eyes. When people ask me about my tires, I spare them all the fancy car guy lingo and just say 245/40 front 275/35 rear….19s.

Quick question... So I just put on some 18x10.5 in the rear of my g35 sedan but I still have the stock in the front and there 17,s when I reach about 70 on the freeway my wheel starts shaking hella hard could that be the problem 😂😯

Hey Jimmy, Could be a possibility I would also make sure your wheel lugs are torqued correctly. I have seen where people order new wheels and don't properly fasten there lugs and they have this issue!

Sounds like a balance issue or another factor such as loose lugs bad bearings bad tires etc. But a bigger rim would not cause this issue

I'm thinking of putting 275/35 on my already after market 275/30/19's should I be concerned? Will this break my transmission or something? The 275/30's fit pretty good it only rubs when i hit a bump that i shouldn't have and I can raise the car if necessary (coilovers). I just want more meat in the back.

Kia stinger comes staggered with a -0.6 (-0.23%)diameter variance. Stock: 8width 225/40r19 et34 8.5width 255/35r19 et 46.5 Now I want to run a bit more aggressive 9.5width 245/35r19 ET25 9.5width 255/35r19 ET25 This results in a 0.28 (1.06%) Could this work for me? If I can’t do that I’d go 245/40 275/35 But I find that I bit too aggressive for me.

So I'm planning on putting some staggered 19s on my 98 3000gt. 19x8.5 front and 19x9 rear. I chose the staggered option because I noticed other people's front wheels poke out a little more for the same car. I'm gonna put a set of JNC014s on it. Would it be noticeable if I ran 245/35/19 on both, the front and rear rims with a half an inch difference in width?

You would have to down to 45 or 40 ratio. That's what I did on mine stock was 225/45/17, now 245/35/18 wheel went from 8 to 8.5. In the rear the same story 255/40/17 to 265/35/18, wheel from 8.5 to 9.5.

Depends on what you mean by fit. You can mount a 255/45 on 9 wide. Need more specifics if you’re asking if the combo will fit your car

I wonder if anyone in these comments will know this... I am running 235/35r19 front tires and 255/40r19 in the rear and some people are saying this is the reason my Wheel Speed Censor is messing up and throwing codes. Is this possible? I have looked at tire dimension calculators and the rears have -46 revs per mile compared to the front, the rears are also 1.5'' bigger in diameter. Is this enough to throw off my censors and make everything wack? I am running 19x9.5 front and 19x11 rear. If anyone knows this that would be nice. I've asked NUMEROUS people and got different answers. Some say it's my tires being too different in size. Some say it's my TPMS sensors being aftermarket not OEM (16 370z) so I am extremely confused and don't want to blow money to fix the wrong issue. I wouldn't mind making my rear tires a little smaller, like a 255/35, but I just am super lost. I know this video is old but aye its worth a shot lol.

Wow, so the fronts are 335 on a 9.5 rim ? I didn't know that was sossible and thought the 9.5s are for 295-305 tires, and really surprises me if that's the case

It's kinda like flipping a bar stool upside down and taking a chair leg in the balloon knots... It fits, yes but a proper width rim for a 235 is in the 8-9in range. This is some lowrider saggy pants down past ya ass stance. If you like it, it's there for ya. But don't show up at a track expecting to carve corners and drive hard.

235/25/19 no stretch. Perfect fitment. 225/25/19 will have stretch but not much and obviously lower sizes like 215 the stretch will be greater. 245/25/19 and it will have some sidewall Bulge and more bulge the higher you go like 255 265 etc.
