As an employee of Bridgestone I can agree to most of this, the only thing I can add is that Firestone wasn’t the only company that merged with Bridgestone. There was Hibdon Tires and Hibdon Tires Plus and some others. Other than that, Firehawks are what I run on my street car and Destination Mts on my super duty. Great video good information. 👍🤟

I worked at Firestone/Bridgestone for a while. Even before that, my dad used Bridgestone tires on many of his cars. 6:55 My mom had a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and while I was at work, I installed Bridgestone Dueler HL Alenza tires. 2 were made in the USA, one was made in Mexico, and one was made in Canada. One thing I find is that Bridgestone specializes in making good replacement tires and some really crappy tires sold just to OEMs. I would like to have a video about Pirelli. Occasionally there were Pirelli truck tires at the Firestone places where I worked. The quality was excellent, and the price was lower than anyone would expect for such a great tire. I think if Pirelli didn't spend so much money on advertising premium tires for fast cars, they would be far more profitable. The tires they sell for ordinary trucks are a great value and everybody should know about it.

Subscribed Fitment Industries did an amazing job describing the tough history and the values of the leading tyre-manufacturer, that I am blessed to Co-op with currently. Mr. Shojiro Ishibashi not only created a strong value of family and hardwork, but also instilled a foundation that was based on Seijitsu-Kyocho, Shinshu-Dokuso, Genbutdu-Genba and Jukuryo-Danko. Nowadays, Bridgestone continues to strive for superior quality, while considering the safety of its employees, and it's environment (Check out their recent donation to the Nature Conservancy of Tennessee). Beyond proud to co-op as a Mech. E in one of their Passenger Vehicle/Light Truck plants in America!
@SuperPauliet5 жыл бұрын
The name Bridgestone comes from the founders name. Ishibashi translates as “stone bridge” but that was turned round to Bridgestone as it sounded more western....possibly influenced by the well known US brand Firestone (which Bridgestone ended up buying in the ‘80s).

I was in highschool and had been saving up 5 Rand coins to buy something for my dad's car which I would also drive at times. It just so happened that it needed a new set of tyres at the time and i had enough coins saved up and ended buying them. Bridgestone tyres were the first set of tyres I ever bought. Potenza Adrenalin RE002's 195/50/15. Changed the drivability of the car completely and I only had good things to say about it since then

For those of you who like Japanese like this quadrilingual nerd here, this, interestingly, is the breakdown of Shojiro Ishibashi's (*石橋*正二郎) family name: 「石橋」(ishibashi) is a combination of the characters for "stone" (石 "ishi") and "bridge" (橋 "bashi"). Hence, Stone Bridge, or Bridgestone, what we have today!

The people are passionate about what they do and always give their best. I like those qualities and personally think I have them too which is why I wish I lived there instead of here... Whilst I feel sorry for those who are highly stressed because of working culture in Japan I benefit greatly from the fruits of their labour such as the well made cars, guitars and games, to name a few. I really appreciate JDM engineering and am a huge fan of it! I own a Toyota Corolla and Honda S2000 and those are great examples of high Japanese work ethic, especially my S2K :D Then there's my made in Japan instruments - Ibanez and Charvel. I've had Blizzaks since the WS-15, but a few years ago Bridgestone fell to third place in the studless market behind the Hakkapeliitta R2 and the Michelin X-Ice Xi3 (although the WS-80 is probably better than the X-Ice in deep snow). Hi! I like the information that you give on your vids about the tires, so I think that with this one it will be the 4th (I think) vid about tires, so let me ask you, what is the best tire for a daily driving car? I know that you are going to say or other people too......car model, is it stock, what's your location, how is your driving and so on, well I know that this is a hard question to answer cause you have so many factors to consider when getting tires, and I know I know......some might comment, well that's a stupid question, and I say yes and no to that, stupid yes cause of the factors that I mentioned, and no cause when you sit and write on a paper all the factors and then you do your research.......well all this brand's, reviews and vids come up and then you are like wtf!! Everyone claims to sell the best tire, let me tell you about my situation, I'm 36 years old and my car is a 2005 Saab 9-3 arc 5sp with basic go fast goodies like stage2 tune, lower, full turbo back on stock 16 inch rims, I'm in the border of PA and NJ so I see hot summers and good amount of snow, but I have snow tires so there is no need for a tire that will see more than 1 or 2 inches snow at all, I work 6 day a week and it's highway so 70mph to 80mph most of the time I dont take my car autoX or to the track either, I've tried lots of tires like generals rt , Goodyear Eagles and all seasons, neo Geo gens(garbage) Bridgestone, kumho, Dunlops and the ones that I have now that are Pirelli p7s, so what I have learn is that not always when you pay 150bucks per tire you will get what you always wanted all in one tire, and some times a cheaper 80 bucks tire can out perform a tire that is 150, my generals out perform the neo gens and Dunlops and my kumhos out perform my Goodyear eagles, but I feel like my Pirelli out perform all but at least for the first 20k and well obviously as the tire gets old the less responsive it gets, well some of the cheapest tires that I had were more responsive at 40k than my Pirelli, all I want is good grip, good hydroplaning and good life on it, so this brings me back to the question, what is a good tire?
