I’m glad that people, especially women, are finally concentrating on weight lifting, but you will always need a combo of both. Your heart & lungs still need cardio

They are highlighting the reasons why people are switching to resistance training over cardio. They then go into the economics of why gyms are switching to resistance training machines. Unless you can find any research or information conflicting with what she said in regards to the health benefits of resistance training, your point is moot. Health experts also tend to be fairly wealthy, so taking financial advice from them is probably not the worst idea either. Your points are not salient.

My experience at Planet Fitness has been that only about 50-75% of the cardio machines are in use at any given time, whereas the weights and strength training equipment are at about 90-110% in use (people are often standing around waiting to use something which makes it over 100%). I'm sure overcrowding of the weights is one of the most common complaints there.

Not really because most people are more in to jogging,pilates and running than weights..so you have to tell them weights are more important to avoid osteoporosis and increase brain function when you get older..because most people who lifts weights already do warm up with cardio..saying you need a well balanced work out is not the way to get the message out..weight lifting is essential to put pressure in to your bones to make them grow and it put pressure on your nervous system helping you avoid dementia when you get olde
@bernardocantu77
@bernardocantu77 17 күн бұрын
except strength training is more important than walking or running. you want to send a good signal to your body to build and prioritize muscle so that it keeps muscle from being catabolized and prioritizes fat to be catabolized. if you are walking or running too much you send a signal to your body to trim down (lose weight) but your body will be taking from skeletal muscle too. so whatever you do make sure you send the signal for your body to maintain or build muscle because skeletal muscle is super important over everything else. a lot of stuff falls in to place if you prioritize muscle. you lose fat. health markers get better. brain cognition etc etc. not saying you cant or shouldnt walk or run or jog or whatever you do for cardio. just make sure to put it in its place so it doesnt eat away from muscle. it should compliment a strength training program if you love cardo. you can say balance sure... but just make sure muscle or an anabolic environment is of utmost importance.

That stigma is really bad. Women can never get too muscular without steroids no matter how hard she trains or or much she wants it, not even men can. Steroid bodybuilders really twist people's perception of what weight training can do to you.
