VR FIT: Fitness Fanatic didn't believe you could exercise in VR.
I got a comment on one of my videos after mentioning exercise in VR. He said that he doubted VR could be used as a tool for exercise. I invited him to test it out. Who will win this titanic struggle? Fitness fanatic or VR?
We try him out on Racket NX, Box VR (Fit XR) and Thrill of the Fight.

Great video! I'm 59 and overweight. I have been practicing Kung Fu twice a week for 1 yr and 4 months at an academy in a nearby city. I have arthritis in both knees which kind of limits me to how much training I can do without incurring severe pain. I've also been an avid gamer since Pong and I've turned to VR to help me with cardio and weight loss. The doctor told me that losing weight should help alleviate my knee pain. I'm caught in a vicious circle - wanting to exercise as much as possible but being limited by bad knees and not being able to do it. I've never had a problem with my weight until my knees started to fail and I am seriously struggling with it. I bought a Quest 2 VR for myself for Christmas and recently bought this video game to add to my Quest 2 fitness games collection. I love Beat Saber and other music-based games but they do get repetitive after a while. This game had almost a 5-star rating and for the price, I just had to try it out - heck, a hamburger meal costs as much as this video game! I beat the sparring partner and the 2nd player in 3 rounds. It was so much fun but OMG I was so sweaty and breathless afterwards - I couldn't believe it! I'm glad to see that this video made Stu sweat. If someone as fit as he is feels the effect of VR fitness, then I'm sure I made the right choice. I'll play matches every day and see if this helps me reach my goal! Thanks for posting this video and thank you, Stu, for being a good sport and giving VR a try! It really is an amazing device! Cheers!

Daniel Jiménez exactly you can hyperextend parts of your arm or shoulder, like in karate Kata or in shadow boxing you never go full force when hitting just air. Trying to throw a haymaker or power punch in VR is not a good idea agreed! I would say to anyone reading it’s not a knockout game just use it for cardio. If anyone wants to really train to hit hard join a boxing club or hit a real heavy bag and even then be careful because you can still hurt your hand on impact. The Fist is not really designed for hitting things hence in boxing they use wraps and padded gloves.

I use vr as an after exercise after my 5 mile(recently started doing 10)jogs. To keep my body moving because I usually play for hours. Its more of a fun way to keep me from being idle. But on days where i give my body a break its good exercise to also, again, prevent me from being idle and also to keep me from just sitting on my pc and snacking like in the old days. In short, personally its a warmup but its way way wayyyyy better to stand, squat, and swing your arms for hours than to sit for the same amount of time. It is indeed exercise sometimes guised as a war game or shooter for me.

Beat Saber will bring your Heart easy to over 180 BPM and you still want more! There is no Expert+ required when you play this game first time. As a beginner i thought that Normal-level is something i can play through the whole game but i was wet after 20 minutes, and far from doing a camelia-track. Now 6 month later i can do a lot of the tracks with Expert-level. .. and still being wet after 20 minutes, and keep going til i'm done after mybe an hour. Beat-saber brings you allways to your limit- the level required depends on you.

Stride and Space Pirate Trainer are also decent as they get harder. Until You Fall has been a recent favorite which has left me sore for the past week. I've tried several other VR boxing games, and they all have good exercise potential, but they just don't come close to Thrill, as far as being a boxing simulator.
