A couple of years ago, at the behest of my viewers, I reviewed some Japanese cartoons. My viewers got super mad at me because I called them “Japanese cartoons” and left hundreds of comments telling me so. They insisted that I call it “anime”. So I looked up the meaning of anime. Do you know what it is? Japanese cartoons.

@@hithro5466 It's the same with words in many languages, filo (φύλλο) simply means pastry in Greek, so when people say filo pastry, they are essentially saying "pastry pastry". My recent girlfriend was Greek and anytime I would say something along those lines I would get scolded with "that doesn't make sense, that word doesn't mean what you think it does". I can't imagine what it's like for Japanese people who date Western anime fans.

I think as a long time berserk fan there is literally nothing more than I could ask for than the "silence wench I don't wish to be horny anymore" to have blown up so much that even people entirely outside the fandom have heard gatsu's theme. Like for a lot of us susumu hirosawas soundtrack is legendary period, but this particular song is like a resonate heart string. It really hits at that introspective mental state where you question your whole life and realize the shit you need to do. There is a whole type of gymbro that is the berserk fan working through their demons in the gym. I know I went through that phase. Bro mad nostalgia from a zack telander let's go dude, I come here to learn and get better and now my favorite manga gets talked about. Let's go dude. It's actually funny, the ending note you always put in your videos "No excuses, just improve" is a 100% something you would find in an anime haha. It's just the type of "over the top" advice a sensei would say to their student in one of the series. Maybe try reading Berserk, it's a really good manga and doesn't really dive as heavily into the classic anime/manga tropes. Seriously though the "Eurpoean" medieval vibe of the story is really dominant.

To answer your question about the DBZ voice, the voice in the clips you have were done by a different company, if I remember right it was Ocean studios or something. Then later on, Funimation got the rights and re-dubbed it, and that voice actor has been the guy who’s done it since then, Sean Schemmel. My memory is kind of fuzzy from then but I do remember it being kind of jarring when they just randomly started the series over again on Toonami with the new voice acting
