Kettlebells are the most versatile training method for strength and endurance I’ve ever used. But agree, begin slowly and stretch well. Once you’re ready to advance I’d recommend adding on a second kettlebell of the same size rather than increasing weight. Also, once a moderate skill level is reached, look at the Bulgarian bag and steel mace for more variety - excellent methods to improve core strength.

I added a kettlebell to my training about 4 months ago. Just swings though. (I'm mid-60's) I have a 30 pound, and just decided to go lighter and do 1 handed exercises, rather than heavier. Your video today just made up my mind. I've been setting aside 2 PM workouts a week for kettle bell swings and slam ball. The other 5 nights are for upper body and arms. I find the kettle bell swings work my lower body and abs well enough. I only do 25-30 minutes in the evening, along with 15-20 minutes cardio early in the morning, in a fasted state. I squeeze in heavy bag and self defense work when the soreness is too much. (earned my Black Belt at 42 years old) So all my basic techniques are included during the AM workouts.

Dude I use a 25lb kettlebell and a 12lb dumbell and then i do heavy bag ground and pound drills

Bruce Lee topped his squats out at 100 pounds. He then worked on doing them faster. It helped with his fighting speed.
