I'm going to try that skullcrushers tweak. For me the best part of tweaks has been getting around old joint injuries. Even if it actually restricts my weights, if it saves me from another surgery, worth it!

do i agree with everything here , yes and no , there are some basic movements that do'nt work well for some people eg , basic shoulder pressing never produced good shoulders on people like larry scot but pressing with a rotation worked wonders , i also experience the same thing , my experience has shown me you really have to find the exercises and ways of doing them that suit your body structure ,
@KaokashinPlays7 жыл бұрын
jaz ok that's actually the very first point he made..... he compared it to doing a skullcrusher with a slight tweak and how it prevented a lot of elbow pain. the exercise isn't the problem your bodies mechanics are the problem, and you need to adjust the exercises accordingly
@jamesbrannigan7067 жыл бұрын
absolutely agree for example I can only squat with a very wide stance with feet flared - any closer and I get back pain, also I don't feel safe and in control with close stance.. get in touch with your body and it will generally point you in the right direction IMO anyway..

the stuff with i feel it much better that way is fine. its called activation work done before the working sets like after or in the wormup. so you feel the muscle you working and can then go heavy and give him the stimulation.

I'm a personal trainer and adviced a guy that was doing t-bar row microreps with 20Kg plates to use 10Kg plates to get a bigger range of motion so get a bigger stimulus. He told me he definitely tried full range of motion but it doesn't work for him. The excuses... He also thought that he had great results but he just has a big frame with a lot of fat on it. Imagine having that potential and wasting it by doing some quarter rep bullshit. A personal trainer tries to help you and you completely disregard their advice😂

The technique is ok though, that's more like a high pull, which is safe, than an upright row. No shoulder danger there.

Someone needs to show this vid to the naïve lifters following Athlean X videos to a tee. Isolation light weight work should never take priority over heavier compound work for naturals.

Dr. Mike's feelings on doing some mind muscle light stuff (like the hold and squeeze single arm lat cable pulldown he gave as an example) for muscles you've already hit with some heavy weight for volume at the very end of a workout before you head out the door vs just leaving?
@benba26167 жыл бұрын
Nate Also interested in a response to this. Partly as I've only ever seen/used this to help activate muscles (mainly lats which I struggled to activate when I started training)

please release a free program
@Jamtastic7 жыл бұрын
He's more likely to point you in the direction of another free programme, as there are a lot out there which are really quite good. Look into things like Stronglifts, westside, ICF, etc if you're looking for novice stuff. For more advanced stuff I recommend looking around a little more into things like the Bulgarian Method, for example.
@dessertstorm74767 жыл бұрын
Westside? and...Good lord, ICF? come on man. Juggernaut totally disagree with Westside style training and ICF is a complete joke these days. They also did a critique on bulgarian method with max aita.
@Jamtastic7 жыл бұрын
Oh really? First I've heard of it, I didn't know that.Can you explain more please?
@dessertstorm74767 жыл бұрын
explain which part? This channel does critiques of a lot of different programs, they're known for being particularly harsh on westside. The ICF thing. Basically it's a 5x5 program written by Jason Blaha and is just a basic 5x5 program with 1 or 2 things added to it. Jason Blaha is a figure of ridicule due to his history of continuous extravagant lies, (such as being a mercenary assassin) just type his name into youtube for huindreds of videos exposing and mocking him, the program was taken down by tiger fitness who used to host it. It's not a bad routine perse, because he didn't write it. But I really want to follow something from Juggernaut, since they seem to be the most scientific guys out there doing this. (their renaissance periodization templates are kind of expensive though)

So would it be safe for me to extrapolate from this vid that cheat reps are pretty damn cool because you're not sacrificing weight for form but the opposite? (provided the cheat reps are not really small range of motion)
@JuggernautTrainingSystems7 жыл бұрын
Don L kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnSTgoiqatmliZY
@climbscience48137 жыл бұрын
That's not quite right. If you do cheat reps, you usually use other muscles to help lift the weight. Consequently, if you do a cheat curl with 50 lbs dumbbells, the weight that has been lifted by your arm flexors are probably only 40 lbs. Cheat curls might have other benefits (different resistance curve, additional volume after muscle failure with conventional technique etc.), but they're not a magic bullet.
@donluchitti7 жыл бұрын
I agree they're not a magic bullet. I usually perform a strict set immediately after my cheat set so I try to get the best of both worlds. But if one is an experienced lifter, cheat sets are pretty essential to get big because of the overload. It's essentially a way to spot yourself if you do it without too much momentum and form breakdown (involving other muscle groups).

what if i start with heavy compound movements, deadlifts then weighted pull ups.. bent over barbell rows, then a couple of drop sets of one arm dumbell rows..then when my back is tired.. cables rows like shotgun rows or machines to target the back a little bit more??.. i mean.. its ok to use those tweaks that way or am i wrong?
As a personal trainer I couldn't agree more with ALL the points you made, great video!

we have 6 degrees of freedom, not jut tri planar! and through a proprietary mix of joint mobility, steel indian clubs, and flow yoga- you can build real world functional strength, and hardcore tactical fitness! because squats and deadlifts are poorly designed exercises, that lead to pain, regress, injury and compressive forces
