Training legs with a bulging disc can be scary especially if you are currently really sensitive. It seems that no matter what lower body exercise you do, it seems to irritate the bulging disc area.

When trying to find the best strategy to get OUT of pain I suggest dialing back your leg training and swap out some of the bigger lifts like barbell squats and trade them in for something less aggressive and more disc bulge friendly.
There are a number of disc bulge friendly lower body exercises and today I want to share with you 3 that I will do often with my ruptured disc diagnosis

Great content man! Question, do you think the deadlift with a trap/hex bar is a safe alternative for those with bulging discs? If not what are the best alternatives to deadlifting?

I have a trick back , popped it last weak, I was in a hurry, didn’t warm up enough , I knew better. I’ve had a ruptured disc for about 15 years. It’s been over a year since I last did this,wtf. Today is leg day so I’m going to use these exercises today. No deadlifts for a couple months😐

I'm following these videos for those with disc bulge...hoping it applies to those with pain caused by degenerative disc. I was doing squats with no weight and increased weight over a few weeks. I was careful to follow advice on how to do them correctly. I was up to 10 pounds and feel I was strengthening my very skinny legs and feeling stronger stability even in my golf game. But one day I felt a slip in my lower back and my back locked up in pain and spasm. I couldn't move. As much as I felt these squats were helping ...I'm scared to death to go back to them.

Me to snapoed my sht up 3 times l4 l5 with nerve compression pain is off the charts just had anuther epidural faliure ..terrified to lift again now ..pain so bad i vomiyed on the initial onset and nearly passed out

Should leg press be completely avoided or are there any foot or sitting angles that help with safest press without loading the low back?

Single leg variation or being SUPER picky on the depth you use with two feet on the platform.

Yes. These would be a great place to start. Pay attention to how your body responds though.

You should be more transparent about the fact that you have no medical background. I get that you're a fitness dude but you really should put a disclaimer before each video letting people know that you are NOT a physical therapist nor are you an M.D. but simply a person who suffered from back pain and found what works for you. I know that's less marketable but it's more ethical.
