I think of excercises (pseudo pushups, etc.) as tools, and skills (planche, human flag, etc.) as products. Some tools are faster than others, but there's always multiple ways to achieve the end goal.

@@spikeyslug1717 pay in full, much better and worth it. However there are other programs that beat it. I suggest do many many researches and follow these KZbinrs for tips. I've been doing Gymnastic Bodies for like a year and half now, and I'm convinced it's the ultimate form of conditioning. My body looks amazing now...sure, I might be bigger if I did bodybuilding or powerlifting instead, but I'm big enough for me, I like this kind of physique, and more importantly, I love having such total body control and mobility. And what is especially important, I realize as I'm now 40, is that it's a gradual disciplined approach that builds you up over time, strengthening and protecting your joints and connective tissues.

Your comment encouraged me to check them out; problem is only three days into the seven day trial the website went down and hasn't been up for three days now. Not sure if you are experiencing this too.

You may get bigger with power lifting but it's a trade off with what your doing you have a balance of strength, control and flexibility. Imo this is much better for overall fitness and not necessarily about how your body looks and more about pushing what your body can do

I got SO much out of this episode! 👏 👏 👏 Thank you, Daniel & Adam, for the quality education! I was so inspired from just the clips of Adam doing the exercises w/ such beautiful, clean form. I’m a 47-yr-old female, and I can attest that it’s never too late to either start or restart a movement regimen. When I developed fibromyalgia several years ago, I didn’t know if I’d ever be able to regain my strength, mobility, energy, etc., but since I wasn’t dead yet, I knew that I had nothing to lose by trying-I couldn’t settle for a life where I’d be so limited and handicapped by my own inaction.I used my tenacity & resilience to keep on keeping on, and the investment into my wellness has returned dividends-we are ALWAYS worth our own time & energy! 💯 In some ways, I’m stronger & more balanced in my build than before, thanks to the calisthenics channels I follow on KZbin. I just didn’t have the knowledge before to do better. Thanks again for such an inspiring & empowering platform for people from around the globe to benefit from! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just absolutely fascinating stuff - a goldmine of information. I'll be honest inthat I don't really give podcasts their due as, basically, I don't have an hour for them but I'll look out for them in the future. I keep coming back to this phrase of: 'the short cut; is knowing what is needed to be done'. So much good sense in that one sentence. Shocking that you have just 400 likes and there are people dry-scooping on IG with 2.5 mil followers. Beggars belief... 🙄

Gymnastics has very specific exercises and movements with established rules and criteria for judging every movement and highly developed training routines to achieve each outcome. It is highly regulated and correographed, so can't really be compared to calestenics which will probably never achieve this level of regulation. I feel that many gymnastics movements are more for display than calesthenics. They're often very dynamic and obviously designed to be watched while with calestenics, it seems like a good part of it is "feat of strengh" - static movements like the human flag, front or back lever, planch, etc. They are more approachable though still quite difficult so satisfying to achieve.

Training like a gymnast is The best way for me, I have been coached by a pro gymnast for 9 months, and Still coaching me now, and I have been training in my home which is not so big, I progressed inmensely in every skill and got so much muscular, and when I go to train to a park people who dont know about calisthenics ask me if I am a gymnast and alos high level calisthenics athletes ask me the same, Because of my moves and my techniques, So I think taking gymnastics training method and adapt it to your goals is the best way to go.

I've got the impression that for the planche/maltese, the form required isnt the same in gymnastics and calisthenics. I often see gymnasts not having a big scapula protraction on those moves, but in calisthenics you have to have a good protraction/hollow to consider it a "good form". Does anyone know why ?
@Bartje20022 жыл бұрын
Calisthenics doesn't really have more or less protraction, but the gymnasts are perfectly straight. Where calisthenics people some times have a rounded back, while talking about it as protraction
