I learned the hard way since people keep mentioning fender liners. With out them in the wells the breather box is exposed. Will fill up with mud l, water dirt or anything that is slung from the tire on the driver side. This is a good demonstration.
@pro4xadventures3453 жыл бұрын
Thanks Nathan, living in Wisconsin with all the winter snow, slush and salt they use liners are a must. Much easier to just ditch them but in the long run your better off to spend the time doing the mods to keep the installed. As you said doing the mods can save you some headaches down the road.

Those are a +18, think the stock Pro4x wheels were a +35. The +18 push them out just enough to avoid any contact lock to lock with the 33’s but not crazy enough an offset that their sticking way out.

@@pro4xadventures345 Its bone stock so it may be the tires since tires are not all the same.
@portlandtwowheels18722 жыл бұрын
I see that you've answered some of this already but do you experience any rubbing front/rear, full lock left or right while the suspension is articulating? As in this: when you move/crawl or drive over larger obstacles that cause the suspension to flex a lot, does it rub with turning the wheels?
@pro4xadventures3452 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had any issues with rubbing lock to lock up front, I also haven’t noticed any rubbing under heavy articulation either. With this lift just being a heavier spring up front you have to get into some crazy positions to get the front end really compressed but so far I haven’t had any contact issues. I do have a lot more articulation in the rear with the leafs, I got a little lucky with the +17 offset on the wheels which pulled the tires in just enough to clear the rear fender and be able to tuck into the wheel well under full articulation in the rear. Zero offset would most likely make contact in the rear but never ran zero offset so not completely sure on that, jus guessing based off how close mine are.
@portlandtwowheels18722 жыл бұрын
@@pro4xadventures345 Well I have the stock 18 inch wheels. Apparently they have a 30mm offset. I guess that kind of screws me over.
@pro4xadventures3452 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, the + 30 is only a little more than a half inch further in than my +17’s. I have seen guys running 33’s on the stock Pro4x wheels. Hit the FB groups or the frontier forum and ask around. I know there are guys running this lift with the stock wheels.

When changing the front springs did you need to loosen the tie rod and ball joint of the knuckle to remove the assemblies?
@pro4xadventures3454 жыл бұрын

@@pro4xadventures345 sounds good, that would save me some extra work. I saw videos with guys removing them when they were doing the spacer lifts. Maybe they had too because it made the assembly longer. Thanks!

If I add the 2" body lift, do you think I'll still have to do as much melt mod as you or it shouldn't be so much to do? 2" suspension plus 2"body lift.
@pro4xadventures3454 жыл бұрын
Honestly not sure, I would think the additional height would help some with clearance but without having done it I can’t say for sure. Just looking at my truck and imagining an additional 2 inches I would guess there would still be some mods that needed to be done but I’m just kind of guessing with that.

I have a 2018 SV 4x4 & got just over 2" from a Bilstein Adjustable 5100 for the front. I went up to 265/75R/16 on the rubber & didn't need to do anything for clearence. Although, I had already removed the front airdam. Later, I did install some 1.5" wheel spacers that did require some minor melt mods & removal of the front mud flaps.
@pro4xadventures3453 жыл бұрын
Yea a 265/75 16 is the same size as the stock Pro4x 31’s, I can see the spacer getting the tire out far enough to rub. With the flaps off how bad was your melt mod to get clearance?

I don’t believe it will, a 33 is a 33 regardless if the wheel size. Wheel offset will play a bigger role. Mine are a +18 and the stocks I believe are a +30 so on a stock wheel the tire will be tucked in the wheel well a bit more but I would think you would still be dealing with a very similar mode for clearance.
