Hey, have you do your lift kit? And if you have. Did you have any rubbing issue with the 285/70R17?
@thedude828-ed2nn5 ай бұрын
@@cheddarmac7935 I ended up getting the Bilstein 5100 kit with their uca's and I have 285/75r16 tires on now. And yes I had minor rubbing so I I did cut maybe a half inch of metal of where my tire rubbed at full lock and I did the melt mod and I have no rubbing at all. It only rubbed when I had my tires turned at full lock though but I do take my truck on trails so the cutting was necessary for when my tires get stuffed in the wheel wells.

it needs a 2-3'' lift or those tires will be rubbin on every speed bump and off road all the time
@rickwhitfield76174 ай бұрын
The problem is that 275 70 17s are all LT commercial hard rubber load tires. They cost way more and the ride quality goes to shit. Otherwise, I agree... but mainly because those 7.5 inch OEM rims are not a good setup for 285s IMO. Between the rubbing risks and popping a bead on the trail under stress I will pass.

Thanks for the very informative video. I have a set of 285/75/16 that I had on my 2021 SV with minor rubbing on stock suspension with mud flaps removed. I just signed for a 2024 SV today and plan on running the same tire and wheel combination on the new truck. The only difference between the size you put on and the size I have is 0.1" in diameter difference. I noticed a difference in wheel well size between the 2nd gen. and the 3rd gen. The 3rd gen. has a larger clearance on the front as compared to the 2nd gen. Hopefully I won't have any rubbing issues once I take delivery of the new truck.

Noticed while you were working on the first wheel, and taking off the clip style weight, that the wheel has tape weights too.
@MJAltairy Жыл бұрын
Yes thats very normal. It’s one of the techniques of wheel balancing. You can either use stick on weights near the lip or the clip on weights on the lip. I think it’s called “dynamic” wheel balancing
