Oh my god. You don’t know how helpful this series is for me. I’m 100% KZbin taught and I have an odd body shape. Thank you.

Thank you for your clear explanations. I am looking forward to all of your series. I have bought the first pdf for the back and it’s looking good👍🏻 Might I ask- I assume the grainline will not change even though on your last example the center back line is altered?

Thank you for purchasing the pdf and I’m looking forward to the series too! Just keep your Grainline parallel to the lower back. I only altered the center back in the Yoke/Pleat example. Because that piece is on the fold, the Fold is your Grainline. We re-establish right angles at the top and bottom so when it’s cut on the fold it’ll be squared. It’s okay to change grain lines! They are fluid! And in that particular example, you could always add the extra parallel from top to bottom. That wouldn’t alter the Grainline at all. Great question thanks!

My main fitting issue with all patterns is that I have large coat hanger shoulders but a small rib cage/ bust. I’ve also heard this called a swimmers build/ shoulders, it’s just my bone structure.

You sound perfect to me! Try the Upper Back adjustment. And some Shaping adjustments are coming out the rest of the month. Unless you have the PDF then you can watch the videos early.

I have quite a forward shoulder. I have a hollow area , causing the sleeve and back to collapse into that hollow. I believe this is a circumference issue. As a result, at the back bodice and sleeve there is quite a need to be reduced the amount of fabric on both the back sleeve and back bodice. What specific adjustment?

I’m having trouble picturing your shoulder being forward but the back having a hollow- but maybe you mean along where the arm connects to the body. Is it more of a slope that you’re dealing with? (Where can you punch fabric and what direction is the fold?) And do you mean the ball of your shoulder is forward? I don’t have all of Fitopedia completed yet. Are you looking for solutions for the bodice only or sleeve too? For the sleeve: I have a Skill Building series on Fitting a Set-In Sleeve but it’s a paid thing. Eventually Fitopedia will include its information. I have a forward shoulder ball so I deal with this alteration often. For the bodice only (but I give solutions for the sleeve that aren’t as involved). If you just need to round your back, you can check this out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpzaoaONnJuKabcsi=LW3VT9LZ_eudGUHw That video is for Set-In Armholes. If you check the Playlist for Fitopedia, all armholes are in there. And here’s is my Sleeve Fitting series: sewsew.live/products/how-to-fit-a-set-in-sleeve-sbs-1

@@SewSewLive Thank you for your reply. The ball of my shoulder is fairly extreme to the front and I have a forward high back and very square shoulders. One of the pictures in your reply shows precisely the gaping I get at the back bodice sleeve. I will look at your suggested videos. BTW, I lead a group of retirement ladies in Garment Gusto! We all sew and we all struggle with fitting. I have sent them to your channel. Your explanations are wonderful.

@kathylibby3676 Well thank you! I appreciate that. I don’t usually promote much, but you might get a lot out of my PDF Fitopedia. I think it’s linked in the description. But it’s nice that you can make it a reference without looking up videos!
