Thank you for showing me this. My hubby passed in June of this year and I told the guys at the tire shop that I needed new tires . I told them where I live and the driving conditions . So the put 235-60r-17, old tire size was 225-60r-17. My only no Brainerd was the tire chains don't fit, darn it! I like my new tires. Thanks for the video!!

I added these exact same tires to my 2014 Subaru Forester Limited with a 2 1/2 inch lift and they fit perfectly no rubbing whatsoever if you’re in question of buying the tires go for it they do fit perfectly

I have a 2008 Forester Premium and just had a set of 235/70/16 put on, also have 2” wheel spacers. They rub really bad. I’ve already had to remove the bottom trim line under the doors, trimmed back some plastic on the fender wells and it’s still rubbing. I’m stuck with them and I love them and want to keep them…so the only thing we know to do now is to hammer at the metal to bend it back just enough to make them fit without rubbing. Any other ideas??
@newbeginnings85666 ай бұрын
Saw the wheels you fitted were 17x7.5 and I think stock wheels are 17x7 . Maybe the 0.5" pop out helps? I'm also thinking of the 235x65 17 and then maybe a 1" lift rathe than the 2"..
@OutdoorsEveryday6 ай бұрын
Yeah the ones I got were 7.5 wide. I believe it would help personally, but I haven’t tried it so it would be your discretion but like I said, with a lift I don’t believe there would be any problems. Mine was stock height and never rubbed once

How is the clearance on front strut? Just bought my forester and it came with all seasons of the same size. Barely clears strut. Wasn't sure about having a more meatier tire.
@OutdoorsEveryday2 жыл бұрын
I have roughly an inch of clearance. To some that might be too close for comfort but I haven’t noticed any issues. I live in pa and we have some ridiculous potholes and other road issues and I haven’t had any rubbing whatsoever
@stevemcrichards87682 жыл бұрын
Have you found the thicker sidewall makes it more comfortable on road and off road or only off road? Interested to find out.
@OutdoorsEveryday2 жыл бұрын
Yeah thicker sidewall is the best option in any scenario. Especially in things like rock crawling, airing down with thicker sidewall makes more surface area contact and better for traction

Nice to see these fit without a lift. I was thinking about doing 235/65R17 on my stock rims on my 19 forester. Even when going off-road and over big bumps with a lot of articulation still no rubbing?
@OutdoorsEveryday2 жыл бұрын
I haven’t had any rubbing personally even at a lot of articulation. I was very surprised

@@OutdoorsEveryday that’s good to know. Roads get really bad up here in the Midwest from all the road salt and freezing and thawing. Very informative video, I think I’ll end up upsizing my tires on my forester after seeing this!

Will they fit a 2003 xs forester??? Everything on my car is stock thanx in advance its a 16inch rim
@OutdoorsEveryday Жыл бұрын
That I do not know the answer to. I’ve never owned a 2003 forester, so I’m not sure. I would say if they do, at worst you might have to trim a little of the bumper or fender liner if there is any sort of rubbing

They come out to the body line, they don’t stick out passed that. But I might get some 1 inch wheel spacers to change that

How about you show us a video of the wheel turned so we can actually get a view of this so called zero rubbing. I am very doubtful that you are the basically the only one stating that this tire size doesn't rub.
@OutdoorsEveryday2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t have made a video saying I don’t have any issues if I didn’t have any issues. I can do that, but it’s also not the only video stating it

Mine is just the 2.5i but I believe it would be the same. I was honestly surprised they fit with no issues. Some videos I watched before doing it said they had to cut parts of the fender flare but I didn’t have to do anything. Would recommend the 235 size

@@OutdoorsEveryday good to know, it is a 4th gen. Mine is a 3rd gen and has less clearance. Each generation has a different clearance in both width and height. It sounds like 4th gen might be the best for clearance.

That’s something I wasn’t sure of either. Good to know! I plan to do some minor off reading to test out the capabilities as soon as my ankles out of a boot and plan to put that into a video as well. I’m interested to see how well it can climb
