Hi bro I truly appreciate your comment 🙏 Thank you very much 🤜💥🤛 What I will do is I will fit the shocks to the Traxxas TRX4M defender, and then we'll do a trail adventure Then I will fit the flex blades and we'll see what it's like on the original chassis on the Land Rover Defender. If everything goes well tomorrow I'll post the video 😉👍 I truly appreciate the support I hope you have a good day 👊😁

I don't believe there is a difference with the flex blades they fit both models. there isn't 2 different part numbers on the flex blades for the defender and bronco as they are the same except the bumpers. I have the bronco and fried gave me a defender body and clips right in
@rcfungames
@rcfungames 11 ай бұрын
@@Kpilato_21 you're quite right there is no difference between the two besides the body clips, and the bodies, the difference I was referring to is that my Bronco already had the lcg chassis fitted and the flex blades were designed to go on the original chassis. But why am I explaining it to you!!! You clearly already know everything!!!

Bro I was really excited to give the flex blades a try, as I had seen so much about all this flex! that I had to give it a go!! And I tell you I have never been so disappointed!! It just gave the vehicle terrible torque twist and body lean! And besides that every time you try to climb anything steeper than 30° the suspension just unloads and you roll!! And that's not talking about how bad side healing is with them! 🤣 Seriously worst invention ever

Adding limiting straps help. I get my trx4m bronco next week so I have little experience with the trx4m, but on the scx24, it made a HUGE difference. When I upgraded the shocks, i was frustrated because of the roll over angle but i just used a rubber band as a limiting strap and that helped a bunch. You have to mess with it so that the flex stays the same, it'll still get the same flex and flex easily it'll just stop the front end from lifting up. Hope this helps!

I put the stiffer springs in the rear as I've got quite a bit of weight on the body with all the accessories. To avoid binding in the driveshaft, I added orings to the upper links only. This will change the angle of the diff, and less harsh angle for the drive shaft when it's dropped down.
@rcfungames
@rcfungames Жыл бұрын
Yeah I used spaces to angle my diff upwards, but even so the travel is too much I have removed the top blades and used the back hole on the bottom blades, that is taken away my problem, but I fully removed the flex blade from the front axle, has it really reduce the overall capabilities. But definitely a fun factor to have all that flex 💪 I really appreciate the tip and thank you for watching and commenting 🤜💥🤛

I don't know if anyone has said this about your flex in the front. You are getting something called torque twist. Stiffen the spring preload or add a bit stronger spring to your right rear shock. This should level out or somewhat mitigate your twist.
@rcfungames
@rcfungames Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the information but if you paid attention I did mention I put the harder spring in the back right and I had the pre-load to Max and it was still not good, for the kind of obstacles I've got in my course this setup does not work well like I mentioned in the video. But did extremely well on the flat sections with the boulders as it had insane amounts of flex, but no matter what definitely reduced the overall capability of the vehicle. And anyway it took away the realism which that's what I aim for when building My RC crawlers.

When you filled your shock with oil, did you have it fully compressed or fully extended?
@rcfungames
@rcfungames 11 ай бұрын
I closed it up when it was almost fully compressed or else it gives positive pressure to the shock. Which is fine but not the effect I'm looking for. Like this it has a more natural and realistic movement. Thanks for watching and commenting 🤜🤛
@VS666
@VS666 Жыл бұрын
obviously the scale stuff on the roof doesn't help but you can add limiting straps to the front to tip backwards less often
@rcfungames
@rcfungames Жыл бұрын
No I guess it doesn't! but I don't see the point of the flex blades as the vehicle could do all that without having the flex blades, anyway so to me just for the cool factor they are awesome but for overall performance and realistic filming on the trail it's not good. I really appreciate you watching and commenting ☺️👍👍

I lost a lot of my steering from my wheel hub hitting the flex blades what do I do
@rcfungames
@rcfungames 6 ай бұрын
You definitely lose a little bit of steering angle because of the flex blades on the front, there is not much you can do about it Besides that it also causes binding on the front drive shaft because the front axle droops down too low for the geometry of the suspension. All in all the only fix I can give you is to get rid of the flex blades on the front and run 59 mm shocks instead. And even with this setup the droop is still too much for the original link setup. You will need to install the high clearance links and put two spaces on the upper links to give you a better angle on your drive shaft by pushing the axle forward on top. That also helps for the overall droop on the front suspension allowing you to run the 59 mm shocks. In overall my opinion on the flex blades are that it really hits the overall performance of the vehicle from all the issues on the front axle right through to losing all hill climb capabilities due to the fact that the suspensions just unloads and causes it to roll over. Personally I would tell you just remove all of them and run 59 mm shocks and of course position your shocks in different ways as you will gain a lot of Flex articulation just by leaning them forward. I know this is not the answer you wanted but if you watch my videos on the flex blades you will see that I tried everything and I got the steering angle sorted out but it just hits the overall performance too much for it to be worth it!

I'm going to start building the new tarantula body from Injora and I will give them a try on there again as they will be more of a comp build than a Trail truck.
