Thank you so much for these videos! I have been trying to figure out my hydraulic issues on my 2150. After watching this video, I checked my tractor. The pipe was scoring up the housing in the back. The old bushing is barely there. I found my problem AND the answer in your video! Thank you so much!

Thank you for this video series! I have a 2640 that is very similar and I really wish I had viewed your 1640 videos BEFORE I repaired mine. Unfortunately I had hay down in the field and lost all hydraulics while finishing the cutting so I had to quickly diagnose the problem and split the tractor between the clutch and transmission to replace a blown out transmission pump output pressure line. Mine had the old style with the retainer up by the pump which is now obsolete so I had to order a new pump bracket, tube, and bushing. All parts came from my local JD dealer and I even spoke in person with their service techs because I was not sure how the press in bushing was supposed to be installed. They told me to just press it in. They never mentioned the roll pin modification. Everything works fine but it looks like I'll be splitting it again so I don't get stuck in the field. Thanks again, your videos are a huge help.

Thanks, My kit was a genuine one I have not seen a kit without the roll pin but they may have changed it since. You never stop learning.

@@BundyBearsShed I don't believe they changed the kit. I think there were 2 contributing factors to the missed kit. #1 The service techs I talked to were young and probably never worked on a 2640. #2 The John Deere online parts catalog has a list of substitute parts needed to replace the older pressure line (the version that is retained at the pump) and only lists 4 required substitute items. The new pipe, the new 90 deg elbow, a new pump/elbow retainer bracket and the transmission case bushing. It should have called out the entire transmission case bushing kit or at least mentioned it. In any case, thank you again for all of the effort that goes into producing your videos. I tried to document my tractor split and it probably doubled the time to finish each step so I ended up not recording everything just to finish and get back to the field. With that said, you're pretty much an expert so even the things that you think are mundane or uninteresting are actually very interesting and worth watching. So if you have the time, I'm sure others like me are more than happy to watch you clean a check valve or repair an electrical system.

Nice job with the mod. One of those things you'd better get right first time, wouldn't like to have to pull that roll pin out!
@BundyBearsShed5 жыл бұрын
No I dont think that would be good.

they may use a soft roll pin so you can drill it out to change the bush if needed at a guess
@BundyBearsShed5 жыл бұрын
Possibly, but the bush is normally a set and forget type of modification.

Thank you for this video series! I have a 1640.In case the bushing moves why does the pressure drop?
@BundyBearsShed4 жыл бұрын
No charge pressure to the shift cover as the pipe comes back too far.
