FITTING Kellerman Lights

The standard tail lights on the 2022 Triumph Bobber are fitted to the rear fender and are chunky and plastic. I have decided to remove the rear fender for now and as such need to fit new rear lights with a different design.
I have decided to Install Kellermann Autos DF to the underside of the seat pan. These are 3 in 1 tail, brake and indicator lights and are super small and discrete, but very bright.
The installation requires a re-run of the wire loom and a couple of holes drilling in the seat pan. Completely changes the standard look of the rear end of the motorbike.

That light setup is my favorite under the seat one I’ve seen. Great job! Looking forward to seeing the next one. 👍

Thanks, I appreciate that. I love how they look and always get questioned on them when I am out.

Im getting my rear lights replaced at triumph under warranty they said theybwere going to irdernme kellermans as i dont have a rear fender they were about to install them onto the frame of the bike until i sent them this video 😁

That is excellent. I do love the minimalistic look of them under the seat, through brackets onto the frame seems to be more common. Probably as it is easier. I started off with no fender, then went half fender. Now I am going back the way and will be putting a full on again. Tired of getting wet and muddy on the Scottish roads. I am also fitting a Hepco rear luggage rack, so I may have to move the lights. More content on that to come soon. Good luck with the lights and happy riding.

Thanks for putting this on video. I have a Bopper myself and am thinking of installing the Kellerman 3in1 as well. It looks really nice. Do you have any plans to change the front indicators? Biker rules. Greetz from Belgium.

Thanks for this video, just bought a 2023 and did this mod before its first service. My blinkers still flash a bit fast even with changing to type 4 or 5. Going to have to take it apart again and put resistors in i suppose

Seems that different people have different experiences. Annoying that you have to do additional works but at least there is an easy solution. Where did you mount your lights?
@orringejuice3405

Same location as you. Tried the factory drain holes in the seat pan at first but felt they may be blocked by the rear tire so moved them out by half an inch or so

Is there a legal requirement to have a rear mudguard?
@The_Scottish_Biker
@The_Scottish_Biker 8 ай бұрын
To my knowledge not in the UK. It doesnt get flagged at the MoT. There is a legal requirement to have the light positioned/ spaced correctly

Hey mate, great vid. Love the new lights. I am thinking about getting the new 2023 bobber this coming year. How are you liking the newer changes on the current bobber?

Hi Steve, thanks for the feedback. My videos are lacking a little behind the progress with my mods. I am spending most of my free time out on the bike rather than editing. So far I am loving the bike. Had it 5 weeks and clocked up nearly 500 miles. Rough roads and potholes are killer so uprating the rear shock to something suiting your own weight is a must in my opinion. The rear of the bike was too busy for me and I am loving the cleaner look. I will be posting a video later today on cutting the fender down. Have a look later if you are interested.

Definitely loving the look. Keep up the vids. I know it’s hard as your out and about, as you should be. Have you thought about the dr.Jekill and mr. Hyde pipes? Of course don’t forget to look at Motone for custom parts.
@The_Scottish_Biker

@@scubasteve524 will do, thanks. I did look at the Dr J&H pipes actually. I was keep on the British Customs ones but the shipping to the UK, importation etc made it a no go. Then I came across the Hitchcox. I was torn between the matching tips, the black as I have fitted or a full set with X pipe. To be honest it is loud enough for me as is now so I wont be going the X pipe route. I like the black tips on the brushed headers as it creates a different look and highlights the ends. Maybe not for everyone but then thats the great thing with bobbers, we make them to our own liking.

You’ve done an absolutely fantastic job with that! In fact you’ve convinced me to do it the same rather that the NRC light bar I’ve just received. Wondering what you did with the number plate light wire though?
@The_Scottish_Biker
@The_Scottish_Biker Жыл бұрын
Thanks for that, glad you like it. I looked at various light brackets but none of them ticked the box for me so I went off piste. As for the number plate light wire, that forms part of the original wire loom that runs through the underside of the rear fender/mudguard. If you have a look at my other videos, you will see that I chopped my rear guard and put a side mount plate on. When doing this I pulled the existing loom back to the battery, took it off and separated it. This meant that I could split and send the wires for the new lights up to the seat, and run the wire for the plate light along the frame. If your thinking of doing the same let me know and I will make a short clip showing where I have run it.
