This one of the positive points about the RE 650 ownership - since the initial price was so reasonable, it leaves you the option to customize your bike to your taste. One of the advantages of this exhaust system is it reduces a considerable amount of weight which makes the bike faster.

Hi George from TECBIKEPARTS, Thanks for this video. I would just like to point out a small error. When fitting the front pipes to head the slotted hole should go to the bottom and the round hole to the top. As the head castings can vary and we have cut away the flanges at the top to give more clearance to the flange/ head casting. Otherwise a great job thanks.

Another top video Nick . Well done. The OE pipes look great but are a bit heavy. The TEC stinger headers look like someone dying for "P". But I think it's a good move to shed lots of weight. Put the originals away somewhere dry and they can be refitted when it's time for the bike to find a new home. I hear the EURO5 ECU's do not allow much in the way of tuning a system.
@nicksepisode2 жыл бұрын
Pipes are in doors all wrapped up. The e5 model has a lock on the ecu, won't being before someone brings out a hack for it though. Runs much better at the minute to be honest. No euro 5 restriction
@ruahinesrider2 жыл бұрын
You can get remap for Euro 5 models with aftermarket pipes & air filter.There is a video on KZbin where a garage remaps a Euro 5 model on the Dyno but leaving baffles in on Euro 5 to stop running to lean.Ultimatly a tune(remap) on the Dyno for Euro 5 will richen it up was & not be so lean & be best to gain performance & Euro 4 a Power commander or Powertronic or a Remap.A Remap is probably the best on Euro 4 models as well but Powertronic & Power commander give you a choice of 2 maps from a button mounted on the bars.A Remap on Dyno with headers,air filter is a one time tune.

Thanks for that, the weight saving alone is considerable and will help the performance, via the power to weight ratio, the whole 'TEC Bike Parts 2 into 1 Stinger system' is weighs less than a standard silencer alone and then there's the sound, so much more beefy and purposeful. A bit like when I changed the standard system on my 2006 Triumph 900 Scrambler with the Arrow 2 into 1, I then had it dyno'd by Larry @ PDQ, Taplow, it was jetted with 125 mains rather than 120's he said that 122's would be the ideal jets if they existed! With EFi bikes you don't need to do that as they have a certain 'latitude' allowing them to adjust to some changes in combustion, exhaust, fueling etc, unless you go 'full race/wild' of course?

You can't knock these in terms of value. I do like the look of the stock system and the presence of the twin cans at the rear. The only reason that I would consider changing them on mine is to reduce the weight, but I would have to go for a twin system for aesthetics and so that I am not left with a blank spare exhaust hanger on the N/S.

@nicksepisode6 ай бұрын
Hi bud, congratulations on the purchase! The reason you need to keep this in is because of back pressure. If you remove it, the bike will run Lean, get it mapped, and you'll be ok without baffle. I mean revs drop when you close throttle but with finesse you can prevent it. I don't believe it's a relay issue, I think its more air fuel ratio related, could be the evap but it runs better with the free flow exhaust, yet to try a high flow filter.

The older ones have a silver "steel flex" line and this is either just a standard brake line or a "steel flex" with a black cover. Do you know that? The exhaust has a great sound, but the TÜV in Germany would be against it. And I would like it better if there was a different exhaust on both sides as well. Still have a lot to assemble. Loosen the system on everything and pull back while someone tightens from front to back

@@nicksepisode that's unfortunate. Are there any that can or should I do a 2-2 exhaust?

@@nicksepisode any suggestions? I also don't think my state does emissions on bikes, so couldn't I do off-road pipes?🤣

Price is always a factor for me. The scrambler exhaust would be my first choice. Then the tec bike parts 2-2

Original pipes and exhaust system looks far superior. The 2 into 1 system looks, quite frankly, a bit tatty. Sound coming from the original system was perfect. All in all a waste of both time and money when there was nothing wrong with the OEM kit. What do other viewers think?
@nicksepisode Жыл бұрын
Fair point, subject to ones taste though. I like both designs. It's the weight of the stock system that mainly caused me to swap it out
