Sorry if the music gets loud at 4:40 when I'm talking. Not sure what happened there.

If you keep taking small bites, you'll finish it in no time 👍🏻 Handy to have all those spares from the other car you can use.
@TorqueSteer3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’m just taking it a week at a time and it’s been very handy having the spare parts :)

Good to see you back on the cars.What kind is that ratchet?

Make sure you upgrade the mild steel coolant pipe which runs next to the pulleys with a stainless steel pipe, they always rot and fail being soo close to the wheel. I've been looking forward in this project they are my favourite cars.
@TorqueSteer3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. I noticed that the other pipe I had was rotten. This was quite solid but I’ll get a new stainless for the 1.9.

Cool vid. Would you not think about cleaning the parts as you go ? Would make it more salable. Keep up the great work 💪👷👍

where are the bleed areas?

I'd go as far to say that the car was a semi-resto at some point as it's really clean and not rusty like I'd expect it to be. I'm fairly sure the 1.6 didn't have the oil cooler though chap.

It does

@@macca4610 you sure? The 1.9 does for sure but I was fairly sure the 1.6 didn’t ?
@macca4610 Жыл бұрын
@@retrooutput my 1.6 had one before I swapped the engine out. 1992 model
@retrooutput Жыл бұрын
@@macca4610 that’s really odd, I had 3 1.6 without them and 2 1.9 that did - I always thought that was the initial way to check which engine was which. I guess some must have had one for whatever reason 🤷♂️

Luke, are you from Liverpool ? I hear some Scouse in your voice 🤷🏼♀️

You need to remove those metal mounts at the bottom as that cowl's from a Non GTI model, top clips use a spring to hold the top in,
@paultaylor96523 жыл бұрын
Great video Luke, but if your selling it to move on, I'd of tidied up a little just to show you'd cared about it.
