If you're going to carry on upgrading your car I would highly recommend the wide screen Pro nav. Completely transforms the interior. You can sell the original screen and this combined with the higher resale value of having the pro nav it won't cost you anything. There really easy to fit as well.

I hate to be that guy in the comments but in an open dif the wheels get an equal amount of torque hence the one wheel slip being caused by unequal traction and with an LSD slip is limited by providing more torque to the the wheel with the greater traction. :)

I just installed a Lincoln locker on my rear diff. Fist full of 5/32” 7018 rod. That’s how you achieve an even 50/50 torque split drift diff.

Open diff - the torq goes to wheel of least resistance ie. when going on a right hand turn, the driver side rear wheel has less weight on it, so all the power will go to that wheel (causing it to spin more) -> if lsd in that situation the power will be 50:50 so the passenger side wheel will get power, aiding you around the corner- like a pivot. Nice video!

Well it's not like that, Standard M performance LSD should have about 30% locking, and on the contrary when you go around the corner it will cause the car to slightly understeer if pushed a bit more. LSDs with more than 30% locking, so usually 50-50% are just used for drifting. But with performance LSD you'll have more traction when accelerating. Also it's important to understand that on the standard M LSD will lock only on power ( to my knowledge I could be wrong a little). Aftermarket LSDs are different in the way they achieve locking.

FWI 2200 is still expensive for this job and diff. You can get the diff for about 1800 through the forums if I remember correctly, and fitting should only cost you something like 100-150 from your dealership. That puts a decent price at something like 1900-2000 not 2200.

I got my MP Diff for 1800 as my mate is a tech & used his discount. Also a Quaife LSD will still spin its power away with one wheel in the air.

No M140i's come with DCT. They are either manual or ZF8. Only the full M cars get the M DCT's.

I think pro nav completely makes the car. The smaller screen with plastic either side looks so tacky. Good news though u can retrofit them really easily. Makes it look so much better. You'll get your money back once you've sold the original screen and the extra in resale value.

Neil Weeman Very Bad🤨 On a car like that it Needs it. My Focus ST is running a bluefin remap, And I really need one I can’t even use the power from 1st or Second gear, I prefer to catch ppl out on a roll in 3rd from no lower than 35mph. My prob is that map delivers all of its power in one big lump, prior to lockdown I was thinking of getting one put in at Mountune. But post Lockdown it seems the only car I really need is a Nissan Leaf 😭

Wow what a terrible description and incorrect. An open diff sends more power to a wheel that is loosing traction thus creating that crazy wheel spin and no movement. A limited slip diff sends more power to the wheel that has traction when one looses traction.

If you have the BMW M diff fitted at a BMW dealership, then no it's an official upgrade. Anything else then yes, it voids the warranty.

They are called prybars. No need for a £700 pound speical tool, if you know what you’re doing. I’m having mine fitted soon 😅

The Quaife diff is better, no clutch in Quaife, lasts for ever never goes wrong , the clutch in the M diff will wear over time just like a clutch in a manual car 😭

Aftermarket diffs like Quaife & Wavetrac require a ‘like for like’ swap, so knowing my luck I’d end up with a diff that’s covered 100k + miles. They’re cheaper for a reason

Quaife would spin its power away on track with one wheel in the air. Its a similar type Drexler diff as used in "Real" M cars which don't need clutches replaced that often. Race cars don't bother about maintainance. Real race cars dont use the type Quaife make for our car....
