The interior window sills of the house were from when it was built 70 years ago and in a bad way. I sorted this out by using UPVC window sill covers. This is how I did it.

@@MrGeoffreySmith Oh i see! Did you trim back the overhang on the existing wooden board to allow for the new upvc overhang??
@MrGeoffreySmith
@MrGeoffreySmith Ай бұрын
The existing had hardly any overhang, which was one of the reasons for putting a cover on it. The cover was about 5mm thick so that added to the existing gave an ok amount of overhang.

@MrGeoffreySmith

Hi! Im sure you can get these sills in exterior upvc. You can stick straight onto the tiles using something like No More Nails (as long as it's exterior graded) but make sure the tiles are level first. The tiles would also need to be dry and clean when you do it. Good luck!

Mr Geoffrey Smith another quick question- are the blanking end caps used to fill the gap between window and sil cover if the depth isn’t enough? Or is it pure decorative finish? Some of my sils are 280mm, so could I use a 250mm + end cap or would I use a 300mm and cut it down?

He applied the caulk and then failed to tun his finger over it to settle it in to the groove and finish it off. That is the point at which I stopped watching and moved on. Other notable boo-boos were: -The messy way if working (stuff lying everywhere) -The lack of a workbench for tooling, trimming, cutting -The makeshift, amateurish cutting with angle grinder on the floor without any "guide" -That irritating mobile phone featuring throughout the video -No voice over telling viewers what he's doing
